Like a lot of men, romantic comedies are not my idea of film fun. I dont think I have ever really liked one before. However, lost in translation is amazing and is so different to any other "rom coms" Ive seen. Its so great because its genuinely realistic, there are no major events, its not boy gets girl/loses girl/regains girl at the end, its simply real and touching. It avoids the same old cliches that films like this normally trot out. Its the most emotionally touching film Ive seen in years.
Has anyone else seen it? Do you agree, or do I just sound like some soppy young girl or a pretentious film critic?

I've not seen this but would like to as Bill Murray is fantastic. In fact he is his own superlative. He is Bill Murray.

I've seen this and it was a refreshing breath of fresh air to the rom com genre (i wouldn't have even classified it as rom com though..). I'm also not a fan of typical rom com, they're either boring, lame, or too cliche. And the jokes (mainly sexual or stupid pratfalls) are so out there, like the director is hitting the jokes on us with a sledge hammer. I'm more into less in your face humor, like sarcasm. I love sarcasm lol.

I thought it was a great film, I don't normally like romantic comedies but recently I've started to like them. Plus Scarlett Johansson is hot
