Fountain of Utes? Yobbos rejoice! i wouldn't want to be a kid again. kids are helpless, powerless, naive and vulnerable. they are exploited and mistreated by unscrupulous adults. i like being an adult and being somewhat in control of my own life...at least to the degree possible in this big, mean, nasty old world. i like having at least some choices. I dunno... There's so much less crap to deal with as a kid. I mean a little kid. You know, when you could just play all day, without worrying about work, finances, politics, social customs... Ignorance doesn't look so stupid; meals are prepared for you; you don't have to do dishes or laundry - everything just magically gets clean! Oh, and none of that volatile emotional cocktail thats always fucking people up in one way or another. I speak of that "love" ordeal, of course. Quite frankly, being a kid rocks.

Being picked on bullied by other kids and family.

Being a kid sucked. Being picked on bullied by other kids and family. only if you don't have certain things in your life as a child, such as: lousy parents violent people predators poverty bullies crappy teachers etc etc Yep, all true. I obviously didn't have too much crap like that in my early childhood. Although sometimes I wish I could blame my problems on a shitty upbringing... mine seem to be all self-inflicted. Drat.

The older folks on the board will understand and the younger ones will think I'm crazy, but I want to freeze my age at 35, no younger, no older. This age seems like the perfect balance between physical health and mental calmness.
Being a kid again? No freaking way! You naturally tend to remember all the good stuff and block out the bad stuff so it seems like it was carefree, but not so. I play alot more now that I'm older anyway.

I think I'd rather kill myself then live in a world with so many youths. I hear you! (Even if I am a youth myself.) I don't think I'd use this here "Fountain of Youth". I don't like the idea of being old or anything, but come on - being young forever would have to get boring, wouldn't it? In the same way that people who have grown old find themselves wanting to be young again, people with the assurance of staying young forever would find themselves wanting to be old. It's human nature - we've got to have it all. And even if that wasn't the case, who wants to live to be blasted into space when we've finally succeeded in destroying everything else? I like to think that there's a spiritual world somewhere beyond this superficial world, that can only be reached by letting your body die - which sounds like a fair trade-off to me. Having said all that, I don't know why I'm still here responding to this question, because I hate the concept of science fiction anyway. (And I'm not particularly keen on the concept of science fact either.)

I voted no.. Seriously life is long enough as it is. I also disagree that 'there is so much to see and do.' Is there really? Most of my life consists of the same stuff over and over--eating, working, reading, sleeping, sex (well, every once in a while ), drugs, music. Finding people you care about to do those things with is what makes life worthwhile.. And those same people start getting on your nerves before too long lol. I agree with Richie R, I'm looking forward to the relief of old age and death.

And those same people start getting on your nerves before too long lol. Especially annoying celebrities, I don't think I would want to live in a world where "Carrot Top" or Paris Hilton are kept youthful and alive. The same goes for old rock/pop stars that keep trying to put out music long after they should have stopped. Even if they didn't look old their music would still suck. I'd probably get sick of myself after living so long also, after more then 100 years I'd probably wish for senile dementia.

so you're saying talented musicians should stop making music when they start to look old? Yes cause once you get old, you aren't allowed to do anything anymore. No guitar playing, no bungee jumping and certainly no sex! Only allowed to watch the price is right, knit, and drink prune juice!!! ;D

hehehe that was you I saw in the shitbox holden sportin a mullet? Haha! I don't know if there's any such thing as a shy yobbo, though. Sweet Yob of Mine- classic Guns n Roses song. I'm sorry, but TISM owns the canonical yob anthem: If its different, punch If its lager, lunch If it moves, root If it quacks, shoot If its mates, protect If its wife, neglect If its wages, bet If its vicious, pet If its American, ape If its a blonde, gape If its boobs, inflate If its V8, venerate Yahoooo! Yahoooo! If its sport, booze If its licence, lose If its engine, thrash If its buttcrack, flash If its the boys, lairin' If its women, no swearin' If its the footy trip, anaesthesia If its back home, amnesia If its party, newted If its bedroom, putrid If its foreplay, forgotten If its rockin', don't bother knockin' Yahoooo! Yahoooo! If its a party, fight If its winning, skite If its politics, right If its flatulence, light If its tabloid, believe it If its broadsheet, don't read it If its music, rock If its casino, flock
-- TISM, Yob

It's not because they're old, it's because so many bands run our of original music, but continue on even though the quality of their music is not as good. A large part of a band's popularity is their image, so if they used the fountain of youth to maintain it I think their music would still go downhill, but they would stick around because everyone liked the way they looked. Maybe it would be different, but that is how I see the mainstream music industry.

Sex appeal is crucial to a band or groups' acceptance of their melodies or themes. If they are ugly, few people will like their music.

I do wonder how many very talented artists are out there who are struggling to make it due to what they look like.
