Very true.
I'll always defend The Simpsons. 27 years and counting. I'll stick by it to the end.
I think it'll never lose it.
Even on a bad day, it's still better than 90% of the crap on TV these days.

I like watching the old episodes and seeing how many jokes I missed when I was 7 years old.
When 90% of tv shows are reality shows such as Jews on bikes it's not hard to beat the competition.

It's a British show, you should be proud.

I thought you made it up...
Sounds like one of your classic witticisms.

I think it's a common misconception that anyone here actually likes Downton Abbey. And indeed, a remarkable wonderment why anyone else likes that slice of Britain's history that only accounts for around 2% of what we were actually like back then. There is a strong case it's doing nothing but pandering to the American idea of old Britain. You want a real slice of old Britain, watch Peaky Blinders, our take on Boardwalk Empire. And you want to know what modern Britain is like, watch the now departed Shameless UK. I can't stand Downton Abbey, basically. The 10 million viewers it's gets baffles me. Probably older people and the 'curious as to why it's popular' people. Oh, and Seth's stint as Ben in The Simpsons aired recently. Really recommend that episode. Incredibly funny. Certainly back to the best in its 20s. Its not all bad, though, We get some new episodes before the Americans. And some have been simulcast. Ha, ha, ha... I like all kinds of historical shows, not just British ones. Downton Abbey portrays cultural development after a huge loss in society, one of the reasons I like it. Also, I enjoy agricultural shows as well, because I come from a rural background.

No kidding, I hate the reality shows too. They all suck. The only one I've watched at all is Dancing with the Stars, and only because my mother watches it religiously.
