That is really good! Let us know when you get a new job.
It seems the economy is picking up a bit over there.

A library seems like the perfect place for a shy person to work. Two weeks ago I had an interview in a place so far I travelled four hours to and four hours back, for a twenty minute interview.

A library seems like the perfect place for a shy person to work. Two weeks ago I had an interview in a place so far I travelled four hours to and four hours back, for a twenty minute interview. Oh yeah, I've done that too. I once drove two hundred miles for an interview, no success. Libraries are great for shy people, but the profession is changing a bit. Now, we're expected to be a friendlier and more outgoing. You should see me while I'm teaching my computer classes, there. I feel like a completely different person. I capture the students and hold them under my the thrall of my magnetic, forceful personality and drill their minds full of knowledge and technical details. When they leave my classes with a horror, panic stricken look on their faces, I know I've done my job well. Oddly enough, the library profession also attracts a lot of gay people too. They're nice, but sometimes they're just so annoying and flaming that I just want to beat the crap out of them!

Russ...I'm only going to say this, because I know no one else likely will... But you really should keep such things to yourself. And I know I shouldn't say this, but I'm going to anyway ...you're really seeming to fit the Southern stereotype. If people at work/in public annoy you, fine. I'm sure there are many people I've thought about punching a thousand times, for different reasons. But to blatantly say it's because they're gay or "flaming" is not cool. Especially on a forum where so many people say they come to for support and acceptance. Just my (probably) worthless 2 cents.

Very well said Strawberry. Russ, I hope you reconsider your words and sentiment.

Oh come on, don't yall when I'm joking by now? Sheesh. Besides, it's this particular coworker's personality that gets on my nerves, not his sexuality.

Speaking of all those interviews, one of them finally came through! I got a good full time, well paying job today! I'm now a program organizing assistant and reference librarian.
