I'm interested in seeing how people feel about the current refugee/migrant crisis in Europe. I'm not sure I have a particular question, just curious to see if opinions here differ from those I am generally seeing on the internet at the moment.

I almost had to walk out the office today because people were getting a bit too "they'll steal all our jobs" and such. I mean I know I'll be looking for work soon and honestly the competition from refugees coming into the country is the least of my worries right now. It's just sad and as the root of the problem isn't going to be fixed any time soon and the families need to go somewhere. Whether countries (not just in Europe) can come together and help ease the situation I don't know how much hope there is. idk I do find I can go between being idealistic to disillusioned to giving up on humanity very quickly with issues like this I think I've seen some mixed opinions online I'm hoping the most extreme are just trolling.

I read so many anti-muslim comments after every news story. Sad that people can be so hostile towards people who have lived through a nightmare.

I wish that we were taking in more of the refugees here in America. On the news the other day there was a piece about how even people who have applied to take in their own relatives that are fleeing the crisis have been denied. Its very sad.

I'm not sure where or what is to be done with the large amount of people that need help, but I do feel we should help people who are in genuine need and desperate. Some of the comments I have seen online from people about other human beings are just so cold and terrible, and I wonder how humanity came to this.
