Instant message him or not

I know he likes me and I like him.bu, I can't outright approach him. And, when he has kind of tried I shed away. So, now neither one knows how to approach each other. The. Only time I see him is when I sit on the porch with my pet rabbit. And then he only sticks his head out the window to smoke. The porch is enclosed so I can't even yell to him. I was wondering if it would be ok if I instant messages him. We are not friends on Facebook. What do you think?

I don’t know if you ended up messaging him or not, but if he likes you then you should go for it. Not like you need anyone’s permission.
