I'm autioning off a few things on ebay. Just a few small things. Nothing major. Just my house, my car, my private jet...only joking. I'm sellling off some old software and games. I've never used ebay before.
I've selected the option that the buyers can pay me through PayPal. I have a Paypal account but I've never used it. Can anybody tell me how it works?

Hi,
People have paid me using Paypal. I already had an account setup to my bank account. Basically if someone was sending you money they would send it via thei paypal from their bank and then you'll get an email saying you have $$ and I believe you click on a link and it'll take you to paypal and you select to have that money transferred into your bank account.
It's very easy and convenient. I have also used paypal to pay for things. Same deal..you click on your link..login to paypal and click the option "Pay". And the money will be taken out of your account.
I'm pretty sure the turn around time is a few days to show up on your account.

Thanks for that Tiff. It sounds straightforward enough.

I'd say, try to be paranoid about using Ebay. Some people might try to get you to send something before you recieve payment. Stuff like that. I'd think it'd be safer for sellers than buyers. I got a PC that turned out to be unreliable on ebay, and the people pretty much took off after that.
I love Paypal, though. Checks are too unsecure, unless you wait until they clear, and that takes a while. Money orders are a lot of trouble for the buyer--they have to go somewhere that sells them. Paypal is pretty much instant--I've paid for something and had the guy sending it within 30 minutes of the end of the auction. Lot faster than waiting on the mail.

I've never sold anything on eBay but, I've bought a few things. The only way that I pay is through Paypal. It's so easy and your Paypal account keeps a record of every trasaction, comes in handy if you ever have a despute.

I've been trying to buy a few things. I put in a bid for Escape from Monkey island but I was outbid at the very last minute. The auction ended during the middle of the night over here. I find that I become really nostalgiac about all the old toys and games on their that I used to have.

I know what you mean about finding old toys and things from your childhood. I'm always doing a search just to see what things that I used to own are being sold for. You can almost find anything on eBay.

I've sold my first couple of things and I mangaed to transfer it from Paypal into my bank account. I'll take between 5 and 7 days. I went into town today to pick up a few envelopes with those bubbles inside. They were meant to be for sending pff the stuff I sold but I wasted half the afternoon having a wee pop.
