I only post this here instead of an OP because I don't want to give it more attention than it deserves... but Microsoft has come up with age/gender guessing software. It just recently got some scrutiny over concerns about privacy, so be warned. I decided to try it anyway since they claim on their site that they don't keep the photos. How-Old.netI tried it with two of my photos (taken about 3 years ago), and each one guessed about 5 years older and 5 years younger than my age, respectively. I tried other people's photos, and there was wide variation in accuracy. However, it did always get it right (provided the photo was clear and not blurry) within 10 years, which is significant, I think. It also guesses your gender, and it did say I was female. I guess I should be happy about that, since I have been "sir'd" a few times in the past. Anyway, I don't take the results that seriously. It pretty much tells me I look within 5-10 years of my age according to some algorithm. Anyone else try this?

The first time I tried it I got 27 which I was really pleased with as I was expecting around 12. After that I started getting 24 which I was still happy with. The youngest I got was 19 and the oldest 29. I mean it still puts me younger than I am...what I wouldn't give to have one that says I look older. No idea how it works but it didn't completely destroy my self esteem!

I don't even have a photo of myself. Why would you have a photo of yourself? It's like knowing your own phone number. You never need to ring yourself. That said, I am quite curious yet terrified it'll say I'm much younger than I am, something I hear quite a lot and don't like one jot.

In other news, ma' and da' just got back from Dublin. They absolutely loved it. They even found a keychain with grandma's Irish maiden name on it. And they brought me back a newspaper in... some language or another, a souvenir from the Guinness factory and a shirt with an apparently famous bar name printed on it. They loved the bars, the shows, the architecture, that big pointy thing. I must say, though, mother is quite brave finishing the Guinness tour and asking for an orange juice...
She doesn't really drink.

I went to the Guinness factory for the first time ever last year, it was a conference or something and I got invited because I registered with some recruitment company, there's a lovely view of Dublin City from the top of the guinness factory. I'm not sure if I mentioned but I went to a holiday to Belgium a month and a half ago, nice country, basically France lite.

Belgium is one of those funny countries that everyone thinks is all dull and beige, but it's really interesting and absolutely beautiful.
France lite... Come on.
What the hell has France got going for it?
I'd rather go back to Egypt than back to France.
And I did not like Egypt...

Yeah, well, we have the Glasgow Kiss...
I mean, I've never kissed anyone, but how good can a French kiss really be? And also, the French don't call them that, do they?
Only the French would find the time to invent their own kiss instead of inventing something important. Like Britain. We invented everything practical. None of this kissing gubbins...

What the hell has France got going for it? I'd rather go back to Egypt than back to France. And I did not like Egypt... Well, just the atmosphere there in some pubs resembled a stereotypical snooty frenchman, I never got to go to any German speaking areas and practice mein Deutsch. I would like to go to France, seems interesting, like Belgium the climate seems relatively similar to Ireland and Britain. Being in a Muslim country doesn't sound very fun to me.

Only the French would find the time to invent their own kiss instead of inventing something important. Like Britain. We invented everything practical. None of this kissing gubbins... Thankfully the wonderful Wikipedia is here to answer any and all of your questions about the French kiss : In English informal speech, French kiss, also known as a deep kiss, refers to an amorous kiss in which the participants' tongues extend to touch the other participant's lips or tongue. The implication is of a slow, passionate kiss which is considered intimate, romantic, erotic or sexual. Slang synonyms include "swapping spit" and "tonsil hockey".That sounded pretty great until we arrived at the slang synonyms part . A "kiss with the tongue" stimulates the partner's lips, tongue and mouth, which are sensitive to the touch. The practice is usually considered a source of pleasure. The oral zone is one of the principal erogenous zones of the body.See ? That seems fairly amazing in my opinion. In France, it is referred to as un baiser amoureux ("a lover's kiss") or un baiser avec la langue ("a kiss with the tongue")And that answers another question of yours I believe.

Plus the photo was low quality. I would love to know how it works
