I’ve always felt that the best way to beat loneliness was to stay occupied - find stuff you like to do and do them, lose yourself in them - as long as you stay busy, you will not be vulnerable to the pain of loneliness. until this year, i hadn't really experienced the difference between lonliness and solitude. i spent some time living with a boyfriend, and spending most of my time with him, but i was extremely lonely. and then i went through a period where i barely talked to anyone and was more at peace than i'd been in a long time, and i am better for it.
