My sister just got arrested for accomplice to kidnapping someone who was a witness to her boyfriend's arson. She's been seeing this guy for a year, and apparently he's married, has a kid, a long rap sheet. He tried to have a witness killed. My sister wasn't talking, at first, either. But, she did this morning, so that might help her with plea bargaining or whatever. Also, the cops and my mother don't know whether she was not talking because of fear or infatuation with this guy. They think it might be fear enough to tell the cops to watch for my parents(in Alabama), the cops here(Pennsylvania), and the cops near my sister (in California). They think he might get friends to threaten us to shut my sister up. First time my life's ever been threatened! Woo Hoo!
Really, the only thing she's ever done is get in a wreck while stoned, and she wasn't charged with that. She's 19. It's her first boyfriend.
They aren't bailing her out, to keep her safe, to keep her from running, and maybe to show her that she probably wouldn't like prison. Although, apparently she's staying in jail--they only send you to prison after you are sentenced. I guess jail isn't as bad. Probably not fun, though.
Oh yeah, and it's now my birthday. Party!
