I think my shyness is helping me in a class. We have to do a gender study for this class I'm taking(on gender). I am interested in religions, so chose a church.
One way of doing sociology studies is to avoid being noticed, and watch what people do. If you are not noticed, your presence doesn't affect their actions.
I think my shyness has helped me with this. I think it's helped me stay in the background and not be noticed as much--I've had plenty of practice. I'm used to slipping in and not talking much. Of course, last Sunday, someone invited me to lunch, if I had any questions. I do want to know about the organizational structure of the church, so wanted to go do that. This may cause difficulty, since I'm an atheist and this seems to be a Fundamentalist church. Hopefully, I can avoid problems with this since I was raised as a Baptist, and was at one point "saved"(key point of theology in the religion). So, if they ask me I can hopefully duck questions with those answers.
