Hey all..How's it goin? My post may not make sense or be eloquent, but I'm posting it anyways
I used to be shy, extremely shy. Sometimes I wish I still was (why do all girls like the shy guys?). There was one major method I used to get over my shyness, but for me it's hard to describe. I would put myself in the shoes of other people, but not just their shoes, I also tried to feel what they felt and think what they thought. If you start talking to someone, then imagine that you're that person you're talking to. The only thing this person knows about you is what you let him know and what you show and tell him. Don't act nervous or scared (easier said than done, right?), act confident and you will be seen as a confident person.
Much of what you feel is all in your head. It's the remaints of bad past experiences. Experiences which we all have at some times in our life but overcome them anyways.
I don't think I made much sense, but I just want to let everybody know that your shyness can be overcome and it will be overcome.
I'll leave you with a quote by a very wise, overlooked man.
Be who you are and say what you feel cause people who mind dont matter, and people who matter dont mind -Dr. Seuss

It's a good idea, but the problem is that when I'm talking to someone, I only have so much time to think, and usually I spend that time thinking of what to say next. I suppose it would work best if the subject is something you know a lot about and are comfortable talking about at a great length.

"why do all girls like the shy guys?"
LOLROTF... boy do I have stories on this point.
How many of you have been told by an attractive gal that you are infatuated with (sorry Robert, I just like you as a friend)!?!? LOL
I find much humor in this now, but back then it was quit painful.
"Much of what you feel is all in your head. It's the remaints of bad past experiences. Experiences which we all have at some times in our life but overcome them anyways. "
Amen and MAN did you say a mouth full.
My shyness stemmed from a screwed up early childhood amongst other things, and yes, in my opinion, being shy is a state of mind, AND IT CAN BE OVER COME.
Sorry to shout, but I just want those that are still shy to understand that in many, shyness can be overcome.
Robert
