Hello all, for those of you new to these boards, my older brother has been in hospital for the last 9 weeks. He is 33 and has Huntington's Disease, a genetic illness with no cure. Basically, he contracted the MRSA virus in respite and he has been receiving intensive treatment in a medical hospital. His immune system was so weak that the doctors did not think he would survive the MRSA. On top of everything else he has also contracted a chest infection. He is gravely ill. We have been with him virtually every minute of every day.
Shane.

Hello all, and thanks for your kind words and support. We were called out to the hospital twice in the early hours of the morning this week because he was so fragile. The second time one of the most experienced nurses on the ward asked us if we wanted her to call a priest in to give Danny the last rights. That was on Tuesday. He is still with us. His fight is unbelievable. He has made fantastic improvements since Tuesday and he is eating well and is comfortable. All we can do is take it one day at a time. The staff at the hospital love him and half of them were in tears on Tuesday. Hopefully we can now have a peacefulo Christmas.
Shane.
