Hi, I am new here. My name is Gary and i'll be 21 in november. I have a problem, I have never had a girlfriend. I've only had a couple girls as regular friends and that was in jr high. I am very shy when it comes to girls, I just don't know what to do or say that won't scare them off. I know this is weird but I wasn't shy until after 7th grade for some reason.
Lets say I met a nice woman on the internet, what could I talk about to her and say that won't scare her off? I just can't think of anything. Like I said I haven't talked to girls since jr high.
I would really appreciate some good advice! I am not shy at other things, like politics and stuff. I am shy in group activities and mainly towards women. sometimes I feel like giving up.
Thanks Bye

Not that my advice is golden by any standard. But I also think one easy thing you can talk about (and real easy to bring up via e-mail) is asking them what kind of things *they* are interested in. People, I think all of us, like to talk about themselves! (some women I know are especially like that) tee hee. Anyhow. Ask her what she's interested in, what she likes. Then you can reply to that, talk to her about politics... whatever. I tend to know a lot of off the wall, but really great movies. I like to tell people about them sometimes. Ever seen Boondock Saints? I saw it first about 3 years ago. Personally, I think if only all communication could be handled via text messaging (photos are fine) I'd be like some super popular player man. Sheesh. good luck. At least over the internet, you've got nuthin' to lose!

i agree with our guest 'maybe'. also ask about where she works or if she's a student, what she studies. if she's far from you, you can talk to her about where she lives. talk about family. i think one very important thing is to be positive. guys that are constantly negative and feel sorry for themselves are annoying to talk to.
