Don't worry about impressing people when you first meet them, or you'll never be able to be yourself. Just try and get in a position where you'll meet the same people several times and just try to get to know them a bit better each time. A 'wow' personality may just be a front, or won't necessarily help the person connect with others to form deeper relationships.
