Hi,
I found this dating site on Myspace where I found an old friend of mine. The dating site is called True.com. I made a profile there and browsed other profiles, then left. I never went back. Last night I found I had 5 winks from that site in my email box.
I went to that site to view the profiles of the people that winked at me. One winked and asked the next day if I emailed her. The profiles seem legit I guess but honestly I have my concerns that this might be a trick to lure me into signing up and paying their monthly fees.
The fees are 50 dollars a month which includes a 3 day free trial. I read a little more and it explained that it did criminal researches on people as well as checking to see if the people are indeed single. They say they do this to protect other members which is cool. I like this feature but they say this is why they charge 50 dollars a month.
Has anyone used True.com and do you think it's worth it? I have to say I am really intruged with their criminal searches and checking of marriage status of members. If they do not pass then they are not allowed to have a profile. The 50 dollars seems a little too much.
I'm a nerd lol.

I've never heard of it before. You've got to be careful, because some sites are indeed a scam. If you feel tempted to sign up and pay for one, you may as well go to a site that's well known. Not only will you know it's genuine, you're more likely to have a bigger selection of people on there. Some sites offer some deals, like on match.com they have that "find love in 6 months, if not, get another 6 free". So that's my opinion. Don't join this site - go to a more popular one.

Sounds way too expensive to pay for regularly, especially when you will (hopefully!) have the expenses of dating on top of that. I would stick with Match.com or the personals at Salon.com

yahoo personals costs half that and when they do a promotion you can get a week free and get all your money back if you don't like it. that sounds awfully expensive, and like the others said...never heard of it! by the way, background checks and verifying marital status is dicey at best. if you've ever tried to do it on your own, you'd know it's really not that simple.

Thanks for the comments. I decided that I am not going to join it anyways. I got home from work just now and found more winks in my email box as well as follow ups asking if I emailed them after they gave me the first wink. I think it's a scam.
I have tried Match.com and Yahoo Personals in the past and have not had any luck with those. With the winks I got on this site, I was kinda thinking of joining but now I don't think so.

I've seen the ads for that site. Cute girl laying down in front of a computer, giggling and swinging her legs back and forth? Always looked kind of suspicious to me.

Yeah, I am still getting winks from there quite abit. Most of them are from people that I don't match with. Either I make less money then the kind of person they are looking for or I am the wrong ethnicity. I think True.com is the ones who are doing the winking. I could be wrong. I got offered something special if I sign up because my profile has had alot of activity. Yeah right, like I believe that lol. I did wink back at this other girl and she viewed my profile. I seen her in my view history and she winked at me again. Then sent two responses asking if I emailed her yet on two seperate days. I have to admit I am tempted to pay the fee and see what she says but 50 dollars is too much to get rejected over etc.

There are dating sites that are far less expensive, and a few that are even free. If I were serious about online dating, I'd probably go for the sites with less of a risk if nothing comes from it. But I must say, they've got some pretty girls in those ads.

Here's another site to try www.meet-an-inmate.com/You don't even need to do a criminal background check on them, you can be pretty sure the people on there are criminals. And I was impressed by the chainlink background image too, I know great web design when I see it.

I heard first time this name. Is it secure online dating site and Totally Free?? I used to sign up at Okcupid where I can take tests, set up my profile and find matches with other singles. It’s a fun community with the focus on dating and socializing with others.
