I'm in a bit of a bad mood today. Steam is coming out my ears. The last time my face was this red was during the 25th mile of the Belfast Marathon.
Everything is playing up. My email is a diaster area. I have been getting the exact same emails for the last few days. That normally wouldn't be too bad by itself but I'm getting over 1000 a day. Don't ask me why I get so many. Outlook Express can hardly bare the weight. It takes nearly an hour a day to receive them.
Oh yes, and I've just received a letter from my ISP demanding payment for the last 6 months service.
I'm off to find a dog to kick - only joking.

The worst part about it all is that, according to my horoscope (Capricorn), today is meant to be a great day for just about everything:
1. Business deals Very favourable for all kinds of business deals and new ventures throughout. 2. Money transactions (Loans/Investments) Good thoughout the day. 3. Journey Favourable day throughout 4. Construction/ Building activity Good day throughout for all such activities. 5. Moving into new house Very favourable day for such activity throughout. 6. Start new medicine /surgery Very good for both activities throughout the day. 7. Commence religious ceremonies Very auspicious for such activities throughout the day. 8. Educational activity /admissions Very favourable day throughout. 9. Initiating legal proceedings/notices Very good for cases filed today. 10. Attack enemy / Make attempt to repossess your material property. Favourable day for all just causes today.

Believe it or not, I can top this!
A little over a year ago I began getting responses to emails I'd never sent out. Furthermore, these supposed emails were advertisements for x-rated websites. Worse, I was getting thousands of them every day. Most were "invalid address" messages, but others were angry replies from people who got these emails from "me".
After several unsuccessful attempts to stop it, I ultimately had to cancel my entire account and start fresh.

Check out endjunk.com. It's got a good system to catch spam. It automatically creates a new email address whenever you use one. For example, you might create the address amazon@[username at endjunk].endjunk.com if you go to amazon. If you start getting spam at that address, that means it's been sold or something. Just block that address.
Endjunk automatically forwards your email to your regular email address.

I've read lately about a couple of good bits of kit along similar lines. One is called Mailwasher and its from New Zealand.
Another is a very clever bit of software called MailKey. You sign up for a mail key account on their website and then you let everybody you want to be able to send you email know that they have to get an access key from the site. Only people who go through this process will be able to sucessfully send you mail. Everything else is blocked out.
Excellent stuff if you don't mind the hassle.

AGGHHHHH! The last few days it's taken so long to get responses from my internet connection. On quite a few occasions I haven't even been able to get to this site. Seems like there's always a jam just about the time I use the web.

The step from email rage / internet rage to ISP rage is only a small one. I use NTLworld which is one of the cheapest in the UK but its absolutely crap.
I haven't had an NTLworld homepage for months, it won't talk to Outlook express to let me know if I have new emails like it used to and the connection drops out every five minutes.
The service used to be free up until last year - it was part of the cable package. Since then a price hike has been phased in and it now costs me £10 a month. I'm thinking about going elsewhere. Paaying extra for less hassle.

I use MSN and it's not too bad. As far as junk mail, I just block the senders so that they can no longer send me anything.

I'm always getting a weird message on my computer screen that says, quote, "This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down." Then whatever program you're running usually ends. It's happened both online and offline, and no one I know can tell me what it means. Does anyone else ever get this message?

It's happened both online and offline, and no one I know can tell me what it means. Does anyone else ever get this message? It sounds like a standard crash error. When does it happen? Specific programs? If not, it's probably a bug in Windows or a hardware DLL. Or a corrupt file in one of them. Reinstalling windows or the piece of hardware might help(doubtful). More likely to have to uninstall and reinstall. If Windows is the problem and reinstalling doesn't help, you'd probably have to reformat your drive and start your system over. That's not fun.
