I was down at the post office this morning. I have a card that gets put through a machine when I want to get electricity. I handed over my card and said that I wanted £5 put on it. The girl took my card and put it though the machine. She then came back over to me and said that would be £20. I said I had only asked for £5 - not £20. I could feel my face redden big time. She had to go and get her supervisor to ring the company that deals with the electric machines. It took about ten minutes to get it sorted out. The way they looked at me made me feel it was my fault because I'm very quiet.

I can really relate to this, because I frequently have the same type of problem in fast food restaurants. Often times I have to go back to the counter because they messed up my order, or because they moved the utensils, or some other dumb thing that's not my fault -- but I'm the one who gets the nasty looks because I'm inconveniencing them! I hate it...

I've been in a few situations like that as well. Youu convince yourself that its your fault but its not.
