I'm so fed up at the moment. I went to see my doctor about 10 weeks ago to ask for some help on feeling very anxious in all social sittuations, and bearing in that I was already taking anti- depressants, which were keeping me from getting really depressed. She assumed that cos I was crying about the sittuation, that the tablets wer'nt working!(don't all people cry when they are totally fed up with a sittuation which is out of thieir control! So she changed my tabs, and put me on Effexor. What a nightmare! I felt worse. At the time she also reffered me to a physcologist, (which was good!) I had an assesment by the phys, and he said I have a social anxiety dissoder, he said he could cure me no prob. I was a bit optamistic. Anyway it's now 8 weeks since that and I have been told there's a 7-8 month waiting list!!!!I have come off the tabs because, they made me feel worse. My point is that instead of shoving tablets in me, and wasting the goverments money! Just get me the help off the phys I really need. I'm sorry I've ranted on a bit, but I've noone else who understands.

Can't you get referred to another psychologist? And, you might try another drug--I had to go through several before I found any that helped me.
I know health care is set up differently outside the US, so maybe you can't "just do this" if you are outside the US.

I don't know what you've tried in the past, but, since therapy did not work for me and my biggest anxiety problem which was my road test. I took Inderol. It's not a daily thing. Only take when needed. I cried during my first 2 tests and hit a car and forgot how to do everything. But instead of blanking out, I took Inderol and passed the 3rd test, barely got nervous.
