i think i might be getting anorexic, but im not sure. is anybody else anorexic here? I almost always eat, but if I dont i start feeling like its some kind of accomplishment. its starting to scare me. I always feel really fat and ugly. lots of times it keeps me from doing things because Im scared of what people will think about me. I dont even exercise any more because i feel to fat to go outside and let anyone see me. If i am getting anorexia does anyone know a way that i could get help?

first thing you should do is look up anorexia on internet and read about it. if you beleive you may be anorexic have your parents take you to the doctor if or before it gets serious or out of hand.

bluheart:
Get to a counselor immediately! I'm sure they even have some at school that are free. Anorexia is always a symptom of an underlying psychological issue that needs to be dealt with.
As for the exercising thing, you don't need to go outside for that! There are all kinds of things you can do inside. You can find workout routines in magazines, or even buy an exercise video. (My social anxiety often keeps me out of the gym, too.)
From what I have seen on here, you are such a bright, intelligent young girl (and certainly wise beyond your years). Be smart about this. If you feel you want to lose some weight, do it the right way. Eat right and work out. Becoming an anorexic will only cause more problems later on and you don't want that.
If you need someone to talk to, PM me!
Please take care,
-- Nicole

I will echo those who advice you to educate yourself about the topic and to get some outside help from a trained, licensed therapist who you trust and feel comfy with. You may even...if comfortable doing so and you are scared to say you need help, cut and paste your post to this site and give to a trusted counselor at school or parent. You don't have to go through this alone. I am currently studying to be a therapist and from what I know of the issue, you are one in a million. Very few girls are aware of the beginnings of their possible eating issues. The fact that you even wrote about it here speaks to your maturity and health. It takes a healthy person to seek help outside of themselves when they need it and congrats for doing it. Let us know of your progress. I am not currently licensed, but am more than willing to provide friendly support if you so desire. You may Priveate message me any time.
God bless you.

I too echo your concerns and believe you should confide in your doctor or someone you trust that can explain how you feel about yourself. Many girls believe they are fat when its really in your genes. At your age you need all the vitamins and minerals for strong bones, teeth, hair etc. Don't take lightly your feelings, of course, but understand that you are not alone in being curious. Better to get good healthy advice from your family doctor than just going off on your own feelings. At your age, you should be inquisitive of all the knowledge you can acquire and all the friends you can have and do things with. No b/f at this time but many friends...boys and other girls. Enjoy your teenage years, as it get a bit more complicated as you get older. You shouldn't worry about anything, in your life at this time. Have fun and enjoy your teen years.

hi guys. no, i havent talked to anyone yet. i know that i should, but there is literally no one that i trust enough to tell this to (another of my problems). im just making myself eat for now and hoping this will work itself out (although i know its not going to). thanks for all the posts and (suprisingly) the compliments too. wish i could agree.
p.s. ok not trying to be rude, but mexico traveler, you must have had some VERY different teenage years from me. the hell that is being a teenager is why im going to go to school to be a theripist (tell me how it is anonomie) and specialize in teens. consider yourself EXTREMLEY lucky!

Well... ARE you overweight? A diet isn't a bad thing but if you are under-weight and think your fat then worry about it. I'm a male, slightly overweight and since I eat when i'm bored I find it an accomplishment to go a day just eating three meals except the 5-6 I usually get. Thank god for my fast metabolism or I would be huge.

Well isn't Anorexia not eating because you think your fat? Or is it just not eating? Not sure. There is a difference. But either way, yeah not eating is bad. Just supplement any drinks for Diet Sode/Water and cut back on fatty/high-carb foods. Eat less more times a day. Does food disgust you? Or do you keep yourself from eating even-though you really want to eat the food?

Like everyone says your body will just learn to run on less calories if you starve yourself which will lead to slow metabolism and eventually you'll binge so you could do the Smart & Healthy thing and eat a Low-fat/Low-GI-count-carb diet. Maybe a vegetarian diet or something so your mind can't tell you that your eating something which is going to make you fat.
