there is a add out today that slanderously says John Roberts supported abortion clinic violence.
that has been disproven by several sources and in fact the descion in which they cite was also supported by the state supreme court at the time.
while we are at it any thoughts on abortion
Abortion stops a beating heart.

Why do you always find the need to post flammable threads such as these? What on Earth does this have to do with shyness?

I don't know much about him, actually. I really couldn't say anything either way about him.

someone asked for it. plus this is a current issue that reaaly could shape america. one of the most important powers a president has is appointing supreme court members. regardless of your views such an event you should care about and be intrested in.
abortion stops a beating heart is just a fact with that im not arguing for or against
I will say that there is a double standard because if a pregnant women is murdered the murder gets charged with two murders.
I have not voted in the poll but i will once it gets more votes and at that time I will let you know I voted

Uh, SPG, you're getting a little personal here. Can we kind of cut back on the controversy and just have some fun posting here? I really don't want to see anymore fighting here, that's why.

abortion stops a beating heart is just a fact with that im not arguing for or against Thats actually not a fact since you can have an abortion before the heart is formed, so in that case it doesn't stop a beating heart. And I think that if we want to have discusions about political issues there should be another board here that deals just with that. Otherwise there are plenty of other forums on the web where people can discuss political issues.

Perhaps we can discuss things like this one of the less frequently used board categories. Like the Dilemna one. Putting it on the General board is gonna attract a lot of attention and probably start more and more fights. I'm thinking about moving this to the Dilemnas. What do you say SPG? You okay with me moving it?

I don't know enough about the guy or the ad in question to vote.
As for abortion, I'm okay with that, but I'd prefer people used contraception instead.

Why is this in "Shy Dilemmas"? Wouldn't this be more at home in "General"?
Anyway, I'm against abortion. It's the snuffing out of an innocent human life. I guess there are acceptions tho, like if the kid's braindead or if the life of mother and baby is threatened.

yeah moving to dilemas is fine with me. I think we should have a debate section or something like that so we can keep it all in one place.
I dont mean to start a blood bath . I like politics and this sight alows me to discuss it and get alot of perspectives.
if you dont want to get involved dont get involved

if you don't want to get involved don't get involved Exactly. But let's just jump in and moderate the crap out of the thread first rather then trust people to debate without sniping at each other.

haha, moderating a political forum is an interesting and often frustrating experience. Have fun, whoever ends up doing it

I just wanted to move the thread out of the General are because that is the most frequented board here, and we don't need any bloodbaths. This is indeed a very controversial topic, abortion, and we really need to stay civil here. Anyways, i too am against abortion. I think it undermines our own humanity by killing unborn children. If people don't want kids, then they shouldn't have unprotected sex. You don't have sex, you don't get pregnant, it's as simple as that.

yeah its at 12 weeks that the circulartory sytem starts functioning. howver most women are several weeks into the pregnancy before they realize they are pregnant. so in alot of cases abortion stops a beating heart.
if you look at abortion statistics the majority of abortions are for unwanted pregnancies and not medically nescessary life or death situations.
Abortion violates the doctors ethical creed of "do no harm"
I do not support really vocal and violent opposition to it because my dad as a CSI agent had to work a clinic bombing on christmas day one year. in addition to several abortion clinic murders. I live in what has been considered the capital for antiabortion violence.
