I don't mind blushing. It's kinda funny, hehe. The redness doesn't really show up too badly on my skin for some reason. I know this because I've asked people, or looked into a mirror. i've noticed i don't just blush when embarrassed. i also blush when i'm angry. Cool! yeah, but you want to maintain your cool when you're dealing with people like this. i try not to let my emotional reaction show, because an aggressive person likes it when they get some kind of emotional reaction out of you. it really annoys me that i get red when i get angry in those situations.

That just happened to me a few minutes ago. I was getting angry at someone and I had to stop, I could have gone longer and argued but I got discouraged because my face was turning red.
I got a little red yesterday when attention came my way among some co-workers. They were asking, "By the way, when are you going to change your last name?" I got married 8 months ago and haven't come around to it yet, and then all the heads turned my way. It wasn't long so thankfully the attention moved elsewhere.
I hate it, it ruins a lot for me. I've found ways of controlling it but when I do turn red I feel like I've lost the battle.

In the Daily Mail's health section today (my parents buy it, before anyone laughs) there was an article on the operation that stops blushing. It's called an Endoscopic Transthoracic Sympathectomy. Aparently it costs the NHS £3000 and would cost £4000 privately. If I had that sort of money, i'd go for it.

No, but apparently a small number of people get more sweating in their lower back because of the effected nerves.

I took a drug similar to valium (lorazepam), and that worked really well.

I nearly ran out of the doctor's office today while waiting to have a minor surgical procedure. I had to wait in the waiting room for nearly an hour and I started panicking so I called my sweetie and got calmed down enough to go through with it.

This is the worst thing as it gives away your discomfort and those insensitive, obnoxious people who point out "oh my God, your face is so red" make it worse!!! I'd sure be interested in how to stop it. One thing I've found that helps is I say to myself "so I'm blushing, so what? it's not the end of the world....it'll stop soon" If I try fighting it makes me more anxious which makes it worse. I can blush even when I'm alone and thinking of an embarassing situation! I also get splotchy red rash on my upper chest area when I'm nervous.
