I no longer drink alcohol.
Reasons for doing so: It costs money. You end up feeling hung over. You do stupid stuff. It's not the real me. It achieves nothing. It makes the body work harder - as if keeping you alive isn't hard enough.
(I wasn't sure where to stick this, so, here it is.)

Probably a good choice.. I'm not drinking for now either, but I may go back someday if it seems like a good idea. There is a time of life for everything, and I think alcohol can serve most people well at some point in their lives, and by the same token there are times of life when alcohol exacerbates more problems than it alleviates. I don't believe it is a black-&-white issue of alcohol is always bad for everyone.

You're right about those things. Alcohol does more bad that it does good. I would stop drinking, but i'm a teenager, and it's the only way I can rebel without getting into too much trouble.

lol, i rebel with alchohol and i'm hardly a teenager anymore. i think i'm going through the whole rebellious stage a bit late, trying new things and everything- i would have fun but because i used to be so good people keep lectruing me, not even my parents cause they hardly know.

The way things are with the national pastime being drunkenness it seems like the more rebellious thing to do is to not drink. I'm such a rebel

I had the same sort of thoughts about drinking 3 years or so ago made myself stop and have never looked back since. Regards ShyUK

I love beer!
but it doesn't like me very much. If i go overboard, i end up paying for it (two day hangovers!)
I used to be able to keep up when i was younger but these days i limit myself to a six pack here or there, or a couple of big mugs with dinner.
A Gentle little beer buzz is about all i'm looking for ;D Weeek stomach these days.

Post Removed..
It occured to me a little belatedly that i probably don't need to be praising what kinds of beer i like on a thread that someone has started to declare giving it up.
Sorry SteveJ
