Don't worry about being clumsey or making a fool of yourself. Its how I made alot of good freinds!
I know it sounds weird, but really, I'm a very goofy person by nature, I'm dyspraxic which basically means I'm very clumsey. Its endearing!
For example- I scuba dive, it was difficult, but now I am a Padi Open Water diver, and it provided me opportunities to make freinds at the diving centre on holiday. On one dive I was particularly clumsey, practically fell into the water. Which was funny. When I was under the water I was absolutely fine, but getting in and out was extremely difficult. On getting out I had to take my fins off in the water, I can always get one off but not the other. So my instuctor, Gordan took my leg as I sat in the water on a rock and tried to get my fin off. I could feel myself going into the water so twisted to right myself and accidentally finned him in the nuts!
I couldn't believe it, and was so stunned I started to giggle! Gordan, despite bending over in agony started to chuckle too! It was hysterical!
Anyways, after that I got my hair caught in a hanging hook at the base and fell over walking home. But Gordan and I became great freinds since his er... injury and it was the best day ever!
There are many other thinks I have done and said which are, quite simply... stupid. But it makes me acceptable, non thretening and funny to be round. My freinds never laugh at me spitefully or take advantage of me, but we just laugh along together and I have nearly overcome the shyness I felt in secondary school.
