Jimi Hendrix IS one of my favourite artists. hes an incredably talented muscian, showman and exhibitionist yet very meek and shy. i dont think he had alot of confidence generally and found emotional release in his guitar playing. have u ever seen him in any interviews??, u get the impression that he was someone who had insecurities and wasnt afraid (or couldnt help) showing them, he was very transparent (which is quite rare for a guy). A truly great person

Bob Marley is another great one. his music is moving because u feel as though wat hes singing about is important. it has reverence, mystisism and history to it, and coupled with the regea sound makes it a great medium for comtemplation.

I like 2Pac most, the best rapper because he put emotion and feelings into his songs, tracks like Dear Mama, Brendas Got A Baby, Keep Ya Head Up, So Many Tears, Life Goes On. I like Bob Marley though i havent listened to much.

I like Bob Marley though i havent listened to much. u should. he is the epitomy of a great muscian. it might be hard to understand some of his lyrics though, cos he sings in the jamaican/west Indian dialect which might be abit hard to comprehend. Listen to him anyway.

Listen to him anyway. Are there any songs that you would recommend? I know some of the better known stuff like No Woman, No Cry, Jamming, I Shot The Sheriff, Sun Is Shining.

my favorite band is Tool. They are so deep, so much meaning in their songs and the lead singer, Maynard James Keenan is so cool, I look up to him very much.

Has anybody heard of the band Bright Eyes/Conor Oberst? His voice is similar to Elliot Smith's. Ohmigoodness, such beautiful songs and lyrics. Just amazing. Let me find some lyrics to my favorite song of his... Ok I found it.. It is called "The First Day of My Life" This is the first day of my life I swear I was born right in the doorway I went out in the rain suddenly everything changed Their spreading blankets on the beach Yours is the first face that I saw I think I was blind before I met you Now I don’t know where I am I don’t know where I’ve been But I know where I want to go And so I thought I’d let you know That these things take forever I especially am slow But I realize that I need you And I wondered if I could come home Remember the time you drove all night Just to meet me in the morning And I thought it was strange you said everything changed You felt as if you had just woke up And you said “this is the first day of my life I’m glad I didn’t die before I met you But now I don’t care I could go anywhere with you And I’d probably be happy” So if you want to be with me With these things there’s no telling We just have to wait and see But I’d rather be working for a paycheck Then waiting to win the lottery Besides maybe this time is different I mean I really think you like me I think Damien Rice has some powerful lyrics as well. The Blower's Daughter, Cannonball, Cold Water...just gorgeous. Highly reccommend!

Elvis Presley wasn't very deep, but he got pretty wide near the end.
