Of course, I went by myself. But I did not scream once. I was just horrified. But I like heard all these screams and it was like, "dude, why the fuck are you screaming like you've never seen blood before?"And then people were laughing at the dramatic stuff and how he "wasn't going to get laid" because of his stupidity. And it was seriously a ton like the Shining and Hide and Seek. But it had a happy ending, kind of. Oh yeah, and there is this babysitter, who is, like, uh, freaky. It was a really good film though! I love it! The reviews suck though and this movie will be rated badly by AMG. And I think that it is "based on a true story", but the real main character stepped forward and said it was all fiction and it wasn't true that much at all. Just for box office numbers You all should see it and judge for yourselves. So many things to laugh at. And Ryan Reynolds is hot.

Cool. Sucks about the happy ending tho I'll either wait for it to come on tv or download it. Anything to avoid leaving the house and going outside. That's horror.

I've seen the original Amityville Horror, so I'm sort of curious what this new one is like. I liked the original, anyway. I thought it was scary. And I think that it is "based on a true story", but the real main character stepped forward and said it was all fiction and it wasn't true that much at all. Yeah, it is.....sort of based on a true story. I know the next family that moved in supposedly experienced strange happenings, but I doubt they were in any way the same as hollywood makes it out to be. Of course, I went by myself. Very brave of you...especially since it was a scary movie and all. I don't think I could ever attempt going to a scary movie by myself.

LOL that's why one time on here I was wondering if i was really shy or not because a lot of things I do aren't characteristic. . . It is like i am confidently introvertedly antisocial or something? LOL.
Turn the lights off when you see it and watch it at night to get the full effect! Late at night.
I hope the real story isn't like Hollywood! I haven't had time to look @ it thoroughly but if it were, I would be in therapy the rest of my life trying to get to sleep at night.
So far it's ahead in box office!!!
I just love scary movies. ;D

I really hate scary films...and i defiantly wouldnt watch a scary film at the cinema..the sound is like 10 times louder than watching it at home. Which of course makes you jump more..lol and knowing me i would end up screaming in front of everyone in the cinema haha..i avoid scary films so i dont make a fool out of myself. Just the thought of it makes me cringe. And yes i agree, it was very brave of you to go by yourself well done you!

I may be a wimp, but scary movies aren't for me. Like when i saw the Exorcist Beginning, it didn't freak me out so much then, but my memory really plays tricks on me, and the scary stuff i just couldn't seem to forget, and it bothered me at night for weeks! Same thing with White Noise; it was interesting, but i couldn't look at a fuzzy channel the same way for a while, or even listen to a radio.

I've seen both the original and the new one in the movies. I love horror movies and this new one was pretty good. Disturbing and creepy. ;D My theater experience was a lot like yours, AnnoyGirl. We sat in the very last row b/c the theater was filled with teenagers and young ppl and I can't stand having people behind me talking the whole time. It was no better, these three idiots in the row two rows in front of us were talking in loud voices, and literally screaming at all the scary parts. Not one person said a word to them til my boyfriend yelled "SHUT UP!!" and they actually turned around and apologized. Then we had this old lady who snuck in the theater and was chatting on her cell phone in a loud voice right next to us. My bf used to be a manager there and saw the bitch out. Funny off-topic story, one night while off from work a few years ago my bf was seeing a movie with friends and there were these idiots there who would NOT. SHUT. UP. He told them that if they didn't settle down he'd have them stop the movie, and they were like "whatever". They didn't shut up so he went upstairs to the projectin room, shut off the movie. He waited about five minutes then started it up again and they were quiet as little church mice. Lucky no one found out it was him or he might've gotten fired. But it was awesome.

I went to a matinee today, by myself, to see Sin City. I know you guys are young and more self conscious. I don't think I ever went alone at that age either. But if you go during off peak hours its a relative cinch. The theater's dark anyway so noone is really going to see you alone (as if they would notice anyway), and you leave in the dark too. I think out of all the public things to do alone this is actually one of the easiest.

I live for horror movies!! It's my favorite genre. Getting scared is fun! lol of course it sucks that i'm practically immune to horror movies now after seeing so many . What also sucks is that me and my best friend has completely different tastes in movies! She hate horrors and loves Chick flicks while i can't STAND chick flicks! So yeah, we basically don't go to the movies together very often haha.

Hi, I went and saw The Amityville Horror with a friend the other night. It was actually a good horror flick, but not that scary! ;D
We were right up the back and there was a group of about 15 teenage (shudder) girls in front of us who would not shut up for the entire movie, but of course i did not say anything to them because i couldn't. It was funny though how if one of them started screaming, the rest of them would start screaming, or they would scream before anything terrifying even happened...exactly like my sister when she's with her friends in the cinema! i think they're all the same!
As for going to the cinemas alone, i have only done that once a few years ago and left halfway thru that movie because i had this suspicion everyone in the cinema was subconciously laughing and pointing at me even though in reality this was not the case...it just was in my head. I actually saw quite a few people during the amityville horror walk on alone and sit by themselves.
