"Love, love, love comes in waves I want you to love me as much as I love you/ And you do, then you don't, then you do, then you don't, then you do
Love is a battlefield, love is a car with a cracked windowshield/ Love is the rain in Glasgow, love is a lie/ Love is for TV and movie stars, love is for songs played on slow guitars/ Love is for boy racers and their cars, love is a lie, I'm a liar/ Love is a lie, you're a liar/ Love is a 'Why did you lie to me?'
I don't know how I'll get over you/ I got my bad tricks but I don't think think they'll work/ It seems that I've changed and I can't hide/ There's nowhere to hide/
I'm never going to give you up/ I'm just going to keep lifting you up/ Higher than the sky, going up and up/ Faster than why 'Would you give up on me?/' Faster than how would you give up on me?/ Faster than why did you give up on me?/
Love, love, love comes in waves/ I want you to love me as much as I love you/ But you don't
(Love Comes In Waves, Malcolm Middleton)
It's from his Sleight of Heart album which in itself is a gorgeous album, but this song is particularly brilliant.

I'd like to watch I'd like to read I'd like a part I'd like the lead But, I've got nothing to say I've got nothing to say I've got nothing to say I've got nothing to say I've got nothing to give Got no reason to live But I'll kill to survive I've got nothing to hide Wish I wasn't so shy -The Strokes, Ask Me Anything these aren't my favorite lines. yes, it's all true, but the fact that 'i got nothign to say' doesn't make me happy ;D if i ever sang it, it would be in a depressing tone. well, they sing it in a funny way

I´m broke but I´m happy I´m poor but I´m kind I´m short but I´m healthy, yeah I´m high but I´m grounded I´m sane but I´m overwhelmed I´m lost but I´m hopeful baby
What it all comes down to Is that everything´s gonna be fine fine fine I´ve got one hand in my pocket And the other one is giving a high five
I feel drunk but I´m sober I´m young and I´m underpaid I´m tired but I´m working, yeah I care but I´m restless I´m here but I´m really gone I´m wrong and I´m sorry baby
what it all comes down to Is that everything´s gonna be quite alright I´ve got one hand in my pocket And the other one is flicking a cigarette What it all comes down to Is that I haven´t got it all figured out just yet I´ve got one hand in my pocket And the other is giving the peace sign
I´m free but I´m focused I´m green but I´m wise I´m hard but I´m friendly baby I´m sad but I´m laughin I´m brave but I´m chicken shit I´m sick but I´m pretty baby
What it all boils down to Is that no one´s really got it figured out just yet I´ve got one hand in my pocket And the other is playing the piano What it all comes down to my friends Is that everything is just fine fine fine I´ve got one hand in my pocket And the other one is hailing a taxi cab . . .
i feel i relate to this song in alot of parts

The Allies - Grand Facade
Where do we go from here When we've said hello, I'm fine and you? Shouldn't we make it clear It's alright to shed a tear or two
If I showed my weakness would you laugh at me If I ran away would you come after me
CHORUS We hide our hearts, we play charades Here behind the grand facade No fear eludes, no pain can escape From the loving eyes of God
If you could read my mind Would you comfort me with an old cliche This is my best disguise It serves me well, it keeps me sage But I feel the loneliness my comfort brings When one word of love could give my spirit wings
CHORUS
From out of the dark, come into the light
CHORUS
From out of the dark, come into the light

"We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year, Running over the same old ground. What have you found? The same old fears. Wish you were here."

"Passenger Seat" - Death Cab for Cutie
I roll the window down And then begin to breathe in The darkest country road And the strong scent of evergreen From the passenger seat as you are driving me home.
Then looking upwards I strain my eyes and try To tell the difference between shooting stars and satellites From the passenger seat as you are driving me home.
"Do they collide?" I ask and you smile. With my feet on the dash The world doesn't matter.
When you feel embarrassed then I'll be your pride When you need directions then I'll be the guide For all time. For all time.
This is an amazingly beautiful song, imo...love it, love it, love it. I think one needs to listen to it to get the whole effect, though.

"Tender Sugar" - Akira Yamaoka, sung by Mary Elizabeth McGlynn
I run I fall what ripped away check my body now was it body or soul the darkness fades fades to the light disappearing now disappears from the night
And all these nightmares I once had as a child the morning always came it came too late what did my mind forget forget to hide could be the nightmare be still awake I don't know
In or out up or down never know its an illusion round and round on and on every day spins my confusion
Not again, not again, not again from this dream I can't awake what is real, what is real, what is real it's getting hard for me to take

"Talk" - Coldplay
Oh brother I can't, I can't get through I've been trying hard to reach you Cos I don't know what to do Oh brother I can't believe it's true I'm so scared about the future and I want to talk to you Oh I want to talk to you
You can take a picture of something you see In the future where will I be? You can climb a ladder up to the sun Or write a song nobody has sung, or do Something that's never been done
Are you lost or incomplete? Do you feel like a puzzle? You can't find your missing piece Tell me how do you feel? Well I feel like they're talking in a language I don't speak And they're talking it to me
So you take a picture of something you see In the future where will I be? You can climb a ladder up to the sun Or write a song nobody has sung, or do Something that's never been done, or do Something that's never been done
So you don't know where you're going But you want to talk And you feel like you're going where you've been before You'll tell anyone who will listen but you feel ignored Nothing's really making any sense at all
Let's talk Let's talk
Let's talk Let's talk

yeah I like the Wish You Were Here song lyrics also, Strawberry.
Once in a life We lived in a sanctuary A song could get us free Slept behind the altar Only the singer saw
Now is it gone, years on Times we took alone Stealing an hour, buying a night It's hard on the telephone Love outside the law
Je Tant Reveille De Toi oh oh Je Tant Reveille De Toi
Is it gone this year Is the song still in your ear Or were we only high Just the wine Just the wine Or was it only the time
Now we're old How will the story be told Windswept small used by time waiting for the bus will that be us Do you recall my friend We never thought we'd ever fall When the salesmen came to call Selling our soul to buy Sometimes it ain't no deal at all
Je Tant Reveille De Toi Je Tant Reveille De Toi Je Tant Reveille De Toi....
"Just the Wine" - Heart (Magazine - 1978 album)

So, I'm not much into Sheryl Crow, and I've probably heard this song hundreds of times on the radio before, but today I heard this song and realized that I don't think I've ever really paid close attention to the lyrics. Pretty good song. "Everyday is a Winding Road" - Sheryl CrowI hitched a ride with a vending machine repair man He says hes been down this road more than twice He was high on intellectualism Ive never been there but the brochure looks nice Jump in, lets go Lay back, enjoy the show Everybody gets high, everybody gets low, These are the days when anything goes
[chorus] Everyday is a winding road I get a little bit closer Everyday is a faded sign I get a little bit closer to feeling fine
Hes got a daughter he calls easter She was born on a tuesday night Im just wondering why I feel so all alone Why Im a stranger in my own life Jump in, lets go Lay back, enjoy the show Everybody gets high, everybody gets low These are the days when anything goes
Chorus
Ive been living in a sea of anarchy Ive been living on coffee and nicotine Ive been wondering if all the thing Ive seen Were ever real, were ever really happening
Chorus
