Within the past year, these have been a few of my favorite songs, lyrically....though none of them are "new," they're new to me, or just new in the way of interpreting them...

I feel very lucky to have come across this song. So pretty and I identified with the lyrics immediately. At my lowest of lows, it just perfectly describes the way I feel. I love songs where I feel a powerful, instant connection.

This one I just luckily happened upon, too. Caught this entire song while flipping through TV channels. The beginning lyrics, naturally, immediately drew me in yet again...amazing song...

Okay...going waaay back in time now. By watching this video, I've just realized Richard Carpenter reminds me of Topher Grace in That 70's Show...cool. Anyway, this song is just....so real. Admittedly didn't pay much attention to this song until I heard these lyrics. The first line here particularly, is what initially caught my attention...

And now, I'll end with an upbeat, semi-positive song. This song is just too awesome. And again, very real. Heard this song sooo many times on the radio before, but didn't really pay attention to the lyrics till a few months back. I'm just at a time and place where this totally fits. And it's a fun song to listen to, too! I really need more of those in my music collection. And umm....I'll probably regret saying this, but *cough* I think he looks really good in this vid, lol. Ah, no one's probably reading all of this anyway. And I'll just blame it on the rum and coke.
