You were wrong when you said, Everything's gonna be alright. Yeah, you were wrong when you said, Everything's gonna be alright.
You were right when you said, All that glitters isn't gold. You were right when you said, All we are is dust in the wind. You were right when you said, We are all just bricks in the wall, And when you said manic depression's a frustrating mess.
You were wrong when you said, Everything's gonna be alright. Yeah, you were wrong when you said, Everything's gonna be alright. You were wrong when you said, Everything's gonna be alright.
You were right when you said, You can't always get what you want. You were right when you said, It's a hard rain's gonna fall. You were right when you said, We're still running against the wind, And life goes on after the thrill of living is gone. You were right when you said, This is the end.
Do you ever think about it? Do you ever think about it? Do you ever think about it? Do you ever think about it?

I'm loving this song so much lately... Wishing Well - The Airborne Toxic Event "Standing on a bus stop Feeling your head pop Out in the night In the kind of night Where you want to be out On the street, on the street Crawling up the walls Like a cat in heat
And the air is thin And it blows through your skin And you feel like something Is about to begin But you don't know what And you don't know when So you tear at your hair And you scratch at your skin
You wanna run away, run away Just get on the fucking train and leave today And it doesn't matter where you spend the night You just might end up somewhere in a fight, in a fight Or calling your room on a concrete shelf Fighting all alone, with yourself, with yourself And you just wanna feel like a coin that's been tossed In a wishing well, a wishing well A wishing well, a wishing well Well you're tossed in the air And you fell and you fell Through the dark blue waters Where you cast your spell Like you were just a wish that could turn out well
So you stand on the corner Where the angels sit And you think to yourself, "This is it, this is it This is all that I have All I can stand Is this air in my lungs And this coin in my hand" That you tossed in the air And I fell, and I fell All the way to the bottom Of the well, of the well Like those soft little secrets That you tell, that you tell To yourself, when you think No one's listening to, well And the walls spin And you're paper-thin From the haze of the smoke And the mescaline The threat of your brow Under unmade sheets In your ear with the noise From the darkest streets We ran far and wide You screamed, you cried You thought suicide was an alibi But you were always a mess You were always aloof Yeah, it's awful, I guess But it's the awful truth It was truth from the first To the last words that she read And she emerged from the dark Like a ghost in my head She said, "I haven't forgot Any words that you said I just stare at the clocks And I cry in my sleep And I tear up your letters And I burn them in heaps And I gather the ashes In that hole in the ground Where we fell" ------- I also love their song Sometime Around Midnight (the violin is amazing in this): "And it starts... Sometime around midnight Or at least that's when You lose yourself For a minute or two
As you stand... Under the barlights And the band plays some song About forgetting yourself for a while And the piano's this melancholy soundcheck To her smile And that white dress she's wearing You haven't seen her For a while
But you know... That she's watching She's laughing, she's turning She's holding her tonic like a crux The room suddenly spinning She walks up and asks how you are So you can smell her perfume You can see her lying naked in your arms
And so there's a change... In your emotions And all of these memories come rushing Like feral waves to your mind Of the curl of your bodies Like two perfect circles entwined And you feel hopeless, and homeless And lost in the haze Of the wine
And she leaves... With someone you don't know But she makes sure you saw her She looks right at you and bolts As she walks out the door Your blood boiling Your stomach in ropes And when your friends say what is it You look like you've seen a ghost
And you walk... Under the streetlights And you're too drunk to notice That everyone is staring at you And you so care what you look like The world is falling Around you
You just have to see her You just have to see her You just have to see her You just have to see her You just have to see her
And you know that she'll break you In two"

"All Star" - Smash Mouth Somebody once asked, "Could I spare some change for gas? I need to get myself away from this place." I said, 'Yep what a concept I could use a little fuel myself And we could all use a little chaaaaange'. . .---------- "Jumper" - Third Eye Blind " I wish you would step back from that ledge, my friend You could cut ties with all the lies, that you've been living in And if you do not want to see me again I would understand, I would understand
The angry boy, a bit too insane Icing over a secret pain You know you don't belong
You're the first to fight You're way too loud You're the flash of light on a burial shroud I know something's wrong
Well, everyone I know has got a reason To say put the past away
Wish you would step back from that ledge, my friend You could cut ties with all the lies that you've been living in And if you do not want to see me again I would understand, I would understand
And well, he's on the table And he's gone to code And I do not think anyone knows What they are doing here
And your friends have left you You've been dismissed I never thought it would come to this And I, I want you to know
Everyone's got to face down the demons Maybe today we can put the past away
I wish you would step back from that ledge my friend You could cut ties with all the lies That you've been living in and if you do not want to see me again I would understand, I would understand, I would understand
I would understand I would understand Understand
Can you put the past away? I wish you would step back from that ledge, my friend I would understand
I wish you would step back from that ledge, my friend I would understand I wish you would step back from that ledge, my friend And I would understand
I wish you would step back from that ledge, my friend I would understand I wish you would step back from that ledge, my friend And I would understand" Every time I hear this song now, I think of that scene from the movie Yes Man, lol

"A Record Year for Rainfall" - The Decemberists
I read in the paper today It's been a record year for rainfall And you were leaning against the bathroom wall In your lonely dress Was your only dress
Stand accusing across I've got a temper set for tender And you were shrugging it off like a feather Saying, "Oh, would you look at this weather?"
What's the use of all of this? It's to remember you in the entire Because I'm watching it slip away And in the annals of the Empire Did it look this gray? Before the fall Before the fall
So rake your thumbnail across The stretch of the patina Revealing a Proserpina In a low recline In a steep decline
What's the use of all of this? It's to remember you in the entire Because I'm watching it slip away And in the annals of the Empire Did it look this gray? Does it look so gray? Does it always look so gray? Before the fall Before the fall

"Into the Ocean" - Blue October
I'm just a normal boy That sank when I fell overboard My ship would leave the country But I'd rather swim ashore
Without a life vest I'd be stuck again Wish I was much more masculine Maybe then I could learn to swim Like 'fourteen miles away'
Now floating up and down I spin, colliding into sound Like whales beneath me diving down I'm sinking to the bottom of my Everything that freaks me out The lighthouse beam has just run out I'm cold as cold as cold can be... be...
I want to swim away but don't know how Sometimes it feels just like I'm falling in the ocean Let the waves up, take me down Let the hurricane set in motion, yeah Let the rain of what I feel right now come down Let the rain come down
Where is the coastguard? I keep looking each direction For a spotlight, give me something I need something for protection Maybe flotsam, junk will do just fine the jetsam sunk, I'm left behind I'm treading for my life, believe me (How can I keep up this breathing?)
Not knowing how to think I scream aloud, begin to sink My legs and arms are broken down With envy for the solid ground I'm reaching for the life within me How can one man stop his ending I thought of just your face Relaxed, and floated into space
I want to swim away but don't know how Sometimes it feels just like I'm falling in the ocean Let the waves up, take me down Let the hurricane set in motion, yeah Let the rain of what I feel right now come down Let the rain come down
Now waking to the sun I calculate what I had done Like jumping from the bow, yeah Just to prove I knew how, yeah It's midnight's late reminder of The loss of her, the one I love My will to quickly end it all Set front row in my need to fall
Into the ocean, end it all Into the ocean, end it all Into the ocean, end it all Into the ocean...end it all
[Zayra] Into the ocean (goodbye) end it all (goodbye) Into the ocean (goodbye) end it all (goodbye) Into the ocean (goodbye) end it all (goodbye)
I want to swim away but don't know how Sometimes it feels just like I'm falling in the ocean Let the waves take me down Let the hurricane set in motion, yeah Let the rain of what I feel right now come down Let the rain come down
Into the ocean (goodbye) end it all (goodbye) (Into space) Into the ocean (goodbye) end it all (goodbye) Into the ocean (goodbye) end it all (goodbye) Into the ocean (goodbye) end it all (goodbye) Into the ocean (goodbye) end it all (goodbye) Into the ocean (goodbye) end it all (goodbye) (I thought of just your face) Into the ocean (goodbye) end it all (goodbye) Into the ocean (goodbye) end it all (goodbye) Into the ocean (goodbye) end it all (goodbye) Into the ocean (goodbye) end it all (goodbye)

Brand New Colony - The Postal Service " I'll be the grapes fermented, Bottled and served with the table set in my finest suit Like a perfect gentlemen I'll be the fire escape that's bolted to the ancient brick Where you will sit and contemplate your day
I'll be the waterwings that save you if you start drowning In an open tab when your judgment's on the brink I'll be the phonograph that plays your favorite Albums back as you're lying there drifting off to sleep... I'll be the platform shoes and undo what heredity's done to you... You won't have to strain to look into my eyes I'll be your winter coat buttoned and zipped straight to the throat With the collar up so you won't catch a cold
I want to take you far from the cynics in this town And kiss you on the mouth We'll cut our bodies free from the tethers of this scene, Start a brand new colony Where everything will change, We'll give ourselves new names (identities erased) The sun will heat the grounds Under our bare feet in this brand new colony
Everything will change, oOo oOo... " Cute song.

Breakaway - Kelly Clarkson " Grew up in a small town And when the rain would fall down I'd just stare out my window Dreaming of what could be And if I'd end up happy I would pray (I would pray)
Trying hard to reach out But when I tried to speak out Felt like no one could hear me Wanted to belong here But something felt so wrong here So I prayed I could break away
[Chorus:] I'll spread my wings and I'll learn how to fly I'll do what it takes 'til I touch the sky And I'll make a wish Take a chance Make a change And breakaway Out of the darkness and into the sun But I won't forget all the ones that I love I'll take a risk Take a chance Make a change And breakaway
Wanna feel the warm breeze Sleep under a palm tree Feel the rush of the ocean Get onboard a fast train Travel on a jet plane, far away (I will) And breakaway
[Chorus]
Buildings with a hundred floors Swinging around revolving doors Maybe I don't know where they'll take me but Gotta keep moving on, moving on Fly away, breakaway
I'll spread my wings And I'll learn how to fly Though it's not easy to tell you goodbye I gotta take a risk Take a chance Make a change And breakaway Out of the darkness and into the sun But I won't forget the place I come from I gotta take a risk Take a chance Make a change And breakaway, breakaway, breakaway" *2700th post...ugh

UNKLE-Lonely Soul
God knows you're lonely souls. God knows you're lonely souls.
God knows you're lonely souls. Yeah, yeah.
I believe, there's a time, and a place... To let your mind drift and get out of this place. I believe, there's a day, and a place... That we will go to and I know you wanna share.
There's no secret to living. (There's no secret to living) Just keep on, walking. There's no secret to dying. (There's no secret to dying) Just keep on flying.
I'm gonna die in a place that don't know my name. I'm gonna die in a space that don't hold my fame.
(God knows you're lonely souls. God knows you're lonely souls)
I believe, there's a time, when the cord, of life, Should be cut, my friends. (Cut the cord my friend) I believe, there's a time, when the cord, can be cut, And this, vision ends. (Let this vision end).
But I'm gonna die in a place that don't know my name. And I'm gonna cry in a space that don't hold my fame.
Walking in the cold, Just keep on flying. There'll be a searchlight, On the mountain high, God knows you're lonely souls, God knows you're lonely souls, God knows you're lonely souls, God knows you're lonely souls. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm a lonely soul.
I'm going to die in a place that don't know my, name.
God knows you are lonely souls. Lonely souls. Lonely souls. Lonely souls. I'm a lonely soul.
So long, little chapel. Sweet is the little sound Pack up your light, Pack up your light. Say goodbye to the holy water life. Listening and... Ohhh... we get in and out. Ahhh..... Pushing it in. Pushing it in.

I've come to really love this song...
"Not Afraid" - Eminem
....But I think I'm still tryin to figure this crap out Thought I had it mapped out but I guess I didn't, this fuckin black cloud still follows, me around but it's time to exorcise these demons These muh'fuckers are doin jumpin jacks now!
[Chorus] I'm not afraid (I'm not afraid) To take a stand (to take a stand) Everybody (everybody) Come take my hand (come take my hand) We'll walk this road together, through the storm Whatever weather, cold or warm Just lettin you know that, you're not alone Holla if you feel like you've been down the same road (same road)
And I just can't keep living this way So starting today, I'm breaking out of this cage I'm standing up, I'ma face my demons I'm manning up, I'ma hold my ground I've had enough, now I'm so fed up Time to put my life back together right now! (now)....
I only wish I felt this powerful.
I also really like the little bit after this....as well as this line, as it's just awesome...
"haters can make like bees with no stingers and drop dead"

Within the past year, these have been a few of my favorite songs, lyrically....though none of them are "new," they're new to me, or just new in the way of interpreting them... I feel very lucky to have come across this song. So pretty and I identified with the lyrics immediately. At my lowest of lows, it just perfectly describes the way I feel. I love songs where I feel a powerful, instant connection. "Breathe Me" - Sia "Help, I have done it again I have been here many times before Hurt myself again today And, the worst part is there's no-one else to blame
Be my friend Hold me, wrap me up Unfold me I am small I'm needy Warm me up And breathe me
Ouch I have lost myself again Lost myself and I am nowhere to be found, Yeah I think that I might break I've lost myself again and I feel unsafe. . . "This one I just luckily happened upon, too. Caught this entire song while flipping through TV channels. The beginning lyrics, naturally, immediately drew me in yet again...amazing song... "Starting Now" - Ingrid Michaelson "I want to crawl back inside my mother's womb I want to shut out all the lights in this room I want to start fresh, like a baby in a sink Scrub away all these thoughts that I think of you
So life moves slowly, when you're waiting for it to boil Feel like I watch from 6 feet under the soil...."Okay...going waaay back in time now. By watching this video, I've just realized Richard Carpenter reminds me of Topher Grace in That 70's Show...cool. Anyway, this song is just....so real. Admittedly didn't pay much attention to this song until I heard these lyrics. The first line here particularly, is what initially caught my attention... "I Need To Be in Love" - Carpenters ". . . I know I ask perfection of A quite imperfect world, And fool enough to think that's What I'll find
So here I am with pockets full Of good intentions But none of them will comfort me tonight, I'm wide awake at four a.m. Without a friend in sight I'm hanging on a hope but I'm alright. . ."And now, I'll end with an upbeat, semi-positive song. This song is just too awesome. And again, very real. Heard this song sooo many times on the radio before, but didn't really pay attention to the lyrics till a few months back. I'm just at a time and place where this totally fits. And it's a fun song to listen to, too! I really need more of those in my music collection. And umm....I'll probably regret saying this, but *cough* I think he looks really good in this vid, lol. Ah, no one's probably reading all of this anyway. And I'll just blame it on the rum and coke. "Dancing in the Dark" - Bruce Springsteen "I get up in the evening and I ain't got nothing to say I come home in the morning I go to bed feeling the same way I ain't nothing but tired Man I'm just tired and bored with myself Hey there baby, I could use just a little help
(Chorus) You can't start a fire You can't start a fire without a spark This gun's for hire even if we're just dancing in the dark
Message keeps getting clearer radio's on and I'm moving 'round the place I check my look in the mirror I wanna change my clothes, my hair, my face Man I ain't getting nowhere I'm just living in a dump like this There's something happening somewhere baby I just know that there is
(Chorus)
You sit around getting older there's a joke here somewhere and it's on me I'll shake this world off my shoulders come on baby this laugh's on me
Stay on the streets of this town and they'll be carving you up alright They say you gotta stay hungry hey baby I'm just about starving tonight I'm dying for some action I'm sick of sitting 'round here trying to write this book I need a love reaction come on now baby gimme just one look
You can't start a fire sitting 'round crying over a broken heart This gun's for hire Even if we're just dancing in the dark You can't start a fire worrying about your little world falling apart This gun's for hire Even if we're just dancing in the dark. . ."
