Monday 28th April Only one week to go until race day. I can’t wait.
Tuesday 29th April Making plans for Monday. I will get up around 6am on Monday morning so that I can have a good breakfast and allow it time to digest. I will have muesli and toast smothered by honey. All that will be washed down with a black coffee to help the food into fuel process get under way. I’ll leave for the race around 8am for the 9.30am start. I will change at Mayfield and then it’s a short walk to the start at City Hall. Hopefully, the crowds will be out cheering us round.
Wednesday 30th April Dyed my hair ‘Atomic Blue’ today! I was going to dye it lilac to match the colour of the HD symbol but I couldn’t find a good enough match. My hair is now jet black with blue highlights. Needless to say, I’ve been getting a lot of stick at home. I bought a packet of dried dates and a large block of Marzipan.
Thursday 1st May Picked up my marathon pack from Maysfield Leisure Centre containing my tee shirt, race number, running chip and a few other goodies. The chip must be attached to my running shoes on race day. It stops cheating and gives you an accurate time. I showed off the top – and my hair – at tonight’s HD support group meeting. I don’t know what went down better!
