This may be the last missing piece in terms of my appearance. I've improved on so many other things and my self-image has been tremendously better. I'm trying to decide if I should go for contacts. I hope to learn about what girls think..please be brutally honest. You don't have to say anything but feel free to. As for guys, I hope you understand. There are probably other guys who are interested in girls' opinion. Don't mess it up! Leave comments if you like. ;D I hope we don't get into discussions like "appearance really doesn't matter" or "if you're with the right girl it's fine." I know..it's just that appearance matters, at least at the beginning. Plus, it really won't hurt to have better appearance.

Usually, it's not a turn off. Although the frames play a crucial part in deciding; if they are the right shape for the persons face then it looks very attractive.

I agree with Anna... Definitely depends on the type of glasses.

I like guys that wear glasses, especially if their vision impairment is caused by excessive reading. 'Girls do make passes at guys in glasses.' Well I'm not sure if they actually do, but I don't think it would hurt a guy's image very much.

indeed they are not. i find them rather attractive on a female if they are the right kind.

If the glasses suit the person yes it can be a turn on. I have seen some cute guys at work that wear glasses and I have seen some guys that if they changed their frames they would look better. I wer glasses some of the times and I am glad for the new styles because when I started wearing them in high school it was very hard to get a pair that was flattering

They definately have to suit the person. However I'm inclined to think that shy guys are better off without them.

i don't think glasses matter so much for guys. but i have a few things to say about glasses vs. contacts (remember, this is from my viewpoint and experiance as a girl):
i got contacts a few months ago and i noticed an immediate change. it was wierd because people actually seemed to notice me when i was out in public. people took me seriously, with more respect.
what was funny at first is that for about two weeks i kept trying to push my glasses up my nose, but i wasn't wearing glasses. i was startled every time i looked in the mirror. at first, i still viewed myself as wearing glasses. this feeling passed after a few weeks. and now i love my contacts, they make me look a lot more grown-up and serious.
i know sounds kind of shallow, but getting contacts really helped my self-esteem, i wasn't "hiding" behind my glasses anymore.
then again, society places more importance on this kind of thing for girls than for guys.
*finally* what you should do is just try contacts for awhile. if you don't like them you can always go back to wearing glasses. (if you get contacts, get the Acuvue brand, they're really comfortable and they are available for astigmatism too!)

I don't think they are a turnoff as long as they fit ok.

I like glasses, as long as they're nice ones. I think they make guys look smart. I always think they look good on girls, but at the same time they kind of take something away from girls, but they don't do that on guys. If that makes sense

prolly cuz it's not desirable for girls to be smart. Really? I like smart girls, they're a lot more interesting than stupid ones.
