I was reading an article a day or two ago about one woman's feelings in regard to Hilary Clinton, and I thought a poll like this might be interesting. I dunno how widely known she is outside the US, but anyone who's heard enough to be able to form an opinion of her is encouraged to vote. I had an eleventh option for "I feel like I don't know anything about her," but then I felt like that was too much an easy cop-out answer. Even though it's what I'd choose if given the option, lol. I hope anyone who votes will post a little bit of explanation, especially if you choose one of the "various reasons," "stance on the issues," or "gut level" responses. I'm really curious about what other people think, and especially why they do, since a lot of people seem to hold strong opinions about her.

biz.yahoo.com/ap/070529/clinton_economy.html?.v=1she sounds like a communist "We're not coming to you, many of whom are well enough off that actually the tax cuts may have helped you, and say 'we're going to give you more.' We're saying, 'you know what, for America to get back on track and be fiscally responsible, we're probably going to cut that short and not give it to you. We're going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good."

she sounds like a communist I read the article and disagree with your interpretation. "We're not coming to you, many of whom are well enough off that actually the tax cuts may have helped you, and say 'we're going to give you more.' We're saying, 'you know what, for America to get back on track and be fiscally responsible, we're probably going to cut that short and not give it to you. We're going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good." I believe she's saying that we should stop giving rich and large tax breaks because it's not exactly fair ... and that we should focus on economic stability as a nation. (Speaking of which, I read recently that Gates and others are 'pushing' similar ideas... evening out the field a bit more between rich and poor. ... and apparently this has occurred in the past before - when the rich saw possible stability issues in the economy. According to the article, they see their own stability (and positioning) very immednently tied to the stability of the economy. Thus, it is in their interest to support stability as a lesser cost to themselves).

taking money away from people on behalf of the common good is not going to increase economic stability - it will make people less productive

i would vote for her because i agree with her political positions on most issues. i also would like to see a woman elected as president finally, rather than just exerting her influence through her husband.

Note that Gates & other rich people were the ones pushing the ideas. I haven't suggested a personal opinion. You're debating them apparently.

Hillary's OK, I don't love her or hate her. I'll probably vote for her in the primary (although maybe I'll vote for someone like Kucinich, since Ohio's primary is meaningless).
If she gets the nomination, she'll win the election, no problem, which is enough reason for me to support her now.

i am not sure what you are referring to
i am just not a socialist fan it just makes sense to me that people manage money better when its their own, rather then managing someone else's money for common good

About HC, i just don't agree with her on many key issues and various reasons, reasons which i'd prefer to keep private at the moment. I can see a woman becoming President eventually, but i'd like to see one become President on her own merits, and not be attached to an already influential and powerful politician.

You mean like GW did? You do realize that Hillary graduated from Yale and is an attorney and has been a senator since 2000? She was successful without her husband as an attorney and professor. I think she is plenty qualified.

I can see a woman becoming President eventually, but i'd like to see one become President on her own merits, and not be attached to an already influential and powerful politician. Somehow I think that if Hillary Clinton made it into office, it would be in spite of Bill Clinton, not due to her (nor our) attachment to him. Edit: Just to be sure, I don't really know anything about Hillary's positions and so am neutral in my opinion of her.
