i've been reading the articles about former news anchorman Dan Rather's lawsuit against his former employer CBS. apparently, the corporate owners of CBS forced Rather to apologize publically for his story about george w. bush's 'military service', even though he still maintains that the story was true. Rather says that he was basically busted back down to copy boy for telling the truth, which is supposed to be a news anchor's job. has anyone else been following this story? it makes me even less confident that i can learn the truth about what's going on in the world from the network news shows. what do you think? Dan Rather files 70M lawsuit against CBS

I don't know. ABC's political advisor, mark halprin says that the media bias swings left because most 3/4's of everyone working in old media is a registered Democrat and thus sympathetic to democratic stances and that's not even including the editorials.
this is an interesting case where it went the other way. I don't think he should have been fired, that was stupid.

Honestly, i could care less about Dan Rather or CBS, or ABC or FOX or any of them. As far as i'm concerned, the big media channels exist for one reason only; they want to make big ratings, which translates into getting big money and fame for themselves. If a news media can repeatedly broadcast bullshit segments about Britney Spears, OJ Simpson, and other useless celebrities, what does that say about their objectivity? The more i watch these so called news channels, the more disapointed i become.
