I'm currently following season 2 of True Detective, spork are you also watching it? Compared to season 1 it doesn't seem as good and makes you appreciate season 1 of True Detective. I'm really struggling to get into True Detective, but I'm persevering. I'm also really struggling to see the appeal of Humans on Channel 4 - it's getting great ratings and reviews but I just don't know why. That said, I'm nearly at the end of my Breaking Bad binge (two to go!) and it's simply sublime. One of the all time great shows. I just - bloody hell, I'm gutted I missed it all those years ago. I'm also really enjoying 'The Month of Zen'. As you know, I'm a big fan of The Daily Show and Jon Stewart. He's leaving in August so Comedy Central are broadcasting all his 2,500+ episodes back to back online before he goes. It's an absolutely wonderful watch. Trevor Noah will take over in September and I'm looking forward to that. He's a nice guy a good comedian. It's a brave new era, for me. If you're not enjoying True Detective, give this a watch: Cordon. It's difficult to put into words how much I'm enjoying this programme. It's a Belgian drama, in Flemish, currently airing on BBC 4 in the UK, with English subtitles. The first four episodes have aired, so they should be on the iPlayer. The Beeb is airing them in blocks of two, as per usual. It's set in Antwerp and is about a virus outbreak. To prevent it spreading, they create a cordon sanitaire around the infected zone. They block off all major exists with shipping containers. It's like 'Under the Dome', but good. It's very slowly paced, but the sense of foreboding as society begins to collapse as the bodies start pilling up is quite enchanting, almost. It keeps you watching. The sense of hopelessness and fear as society turns into a Mad Max homage is startling. But it's grounded in reality. If this really happened, how would humans react? How would such a deadly and vicious disease take control? How would social media play a part? It's very slow but quite good. Be warned, it can get a bit bloody, grim, dark, unpleasant and sad. I'm particularly struck by the good character work and acting, the superb direction and the Flemish language - much of which sounds like the fictional language of a race of aliens in a children's TV show. They also use a surprisingly large number of English words. Swear words, in particular. I don't know how they're gonna keep up the good work for 10 episodes nor how the show could grow beyond one series. I also don't think it'll be to everyone's taste - the trailers portray the show moving at a rapid pace when really, the only thing that moves quickly is the growing sense of panic. But overall, I think it's shaping up to be another excellent import, something good to tick me over whilst I'm waiting for the new series of The Bridge... 9.7/10.

It has four central characters, which makes it harder to give as much time or exposition to each character when compared to having two like there was in the first season, the characters themselves are not as interesting as Rust, none of them measure up to Rust my any measure so that's a little bit of a disappointment, the general crime doesn't have the same eerie sense that was present in the first season. That being said however it's still fairly enjoyable. Breaking Bad is fantastic, nothing more can be said. I heard Jon Stewart is retiring, never really got into American news shows because frankly I would rather care about politics that is more local. Interesting, you weren't wrong about the Bridge, that was a great show, also I was in Belgium about three months ago so it would be nice to see a familiar territory. That description makes it sound somewhat similar to Black Mirror which I'm sure you would have seen.

My biggest problem with TD is that I just don't understand it. I can't figure out what's going on. There's so many plots and intricacies that are making my head explode. The characters are wooden, as well. They're clichés that we've seen before. And Vince Vaughn just isn't doing it for me. I think he's too comparable to Kingpin from DareDevil. It's just a mess. --- I have now made it through the final episodes of Breaking Bad. Epic ending, indeed. Onto Better Call Saul next, methinks... --- To be honest, I know more about American politics than British, but British isn't that hard to follow. The Daily Show does do a bit of international politics, though, not just American. I think that'll increase with the brilliant Trevor Noah taking charge in September. --- Black Mirror is fantastic, nothing more can be said.

I'm nearly as interested in TD this season as I was last season, some of the characters are very wooden and that one characters repressed homosexuality was so obvious from the start it's boring. Better call Saul has a lot less action but can be just as riveting as Breaking Bad. I used to follow American politics a lot more than I currently do, I still have notions of what's currently going on and the like but it feels silly to not know what's going on in your own country and follow Americas, that really only goes for myself however. I had never heard of Trevor Noah before he was announced as the new host of the Daily show. Yep, echo those words perfectly.

Just finished watching the Belgian thriller 'Cordon'.
10 episodes of magnificence.
No surprises, the Americans are remaking it. The Killing, Utopia, The Bridge, The Returned and now this. And because 'Cordon' aint returning for a second run, everyone will forget this masterpiece of the small screen. This beautifully nuanced, extremely well acted, incredibly well written, gorgeously directed, televisual gold. A brutal dark, bitter, devastating, tragic and perfect drama-thriller of utter despair, societal breakdown and the complexities of the human condition, often disgusting and ravaging. One of, in my humble opinion, the greatest television shows ever produced.
The American one will be, inevitably, full of glitz, glam, gore, glorified bloodshed, swearing, extreme nudity, extremely awful sex scenes, poorly written dialogue, awful misplaced comedy, wooden acting, supermodel actors and will be completely unrelatable, like with all their remakes. So do me a favour - when 'Containment' lands on American television, ignore the hell out of it and watch the brilliant original instead.
Such a shame it probably won't return for Season 2.
That said, The Bridge 3 is coming. Probably autumn or winter time. The original. Not the God-awful British and American remakes...
So that's something to look forward to. Life without Martin.
Golly, that'll be fun.

Since it's airing on the CW I can guarantee there will be no nudity, very little swearing, and "implied" sex scenes. As for the rest of your predictions, well, I probably won't be watching it anyway.....

I just found a trailer for The Bridge 3. Came out in April. How did I not know about this?
Anyway, who needs Martin when it looks this good. And creepy...
It lands on BBC 4 later this year.
Love me a bit of Saga...

That looks interesting - I watched the one about why housing prices go up so much and it was very good. There is a series I found on Amazon Instant Video (also on iTunes) called Closer to Truth. It's a show about philosophy (mostly about standard topics- god, consciousness, free will, etc.). I've watched a few episodes and it's very well done, although not free: Closer To Truth

Sense8 :I'll admit that it took me a couple of episodes before I really got into it but once I did I enjoyed it a great deal and am now a bit sad that I've already finished the first season. I'm looking forward to the second one for sure, my favorite character is Sun followed closely by Nomi but overall the cast is excellent, there isn't a single actor whose portrayal of his/her character left me disappointed. It's also really strange seeing Naveen Andrews because for me he's always going to be Sayid Jarrah from Lost . Orphan Black : I'm already watching the second season of that show, I like it a lot. Tatiana Maslany is such a talented actress, I find her portrayal of so many different characters to be nothing short of amazing.

Supernatural, season 1. Extremely late to this particular party. Good stuff so far, I'm liking the humour mixed with some genuinely scary/disturbing storylines. Just watched the Bloody Mary episode, which was a bit Ring-y in places, but still made me paranoid about looking in a mirror for a while afterwards.

Supernatural is one of those shows I used to love and keep up with but then randomly stopped watching, around I think series 8/9, and now I regret it because there are so many episode to catch up on it would take ages and I'm not sure if I could fully get back in to it the way I used to.
I need to stop doing that!
