Hoping I don't lose power tomorrow because of Hurricane Sandy.

A bit bored here. Didn't have work today because of Sandy- so I'm just using TV/internet constantly because I'm sure I'm going to lose it soon. Downloaded some NPR (public radio) interviews to listen to on my CD player when electricity goes out. Hopefully will have heat tonight.

^ Stay safe, sweetheart (and everyone over there). It's all over the news here, and it doesn't look pleasant. Although the drenched correspondents are making me laugh. Have plenty to read and listen to and make sure you have a torch and a blanket.
I expect to hear from you tomorrow to tell us you're fine...

Thanks for the thoughts, Sexy Spork. I live in a Connecticut coastal city and we expect to have flooding. I'm in the more highly elevated part of town though so I expect to be safe.
The electricity in my apartment just flickered off... will probably be entering into dark mode now.

(Fingers crossed that it wont go out at all though) Good idea on downloading the NPR programs Stay safe all our North East SUers! I hope you have a warm and comfortable place to ride out the storm. Please let us know you made it through okay.

Please let us know you made it through okay. I'm fine. It was about what I expected. The loud howling winds were kind of eery to listen to, but they started to weaken before the end of the night. I lost power for a day, and it's back on now. Many will be without power for a week -- I'm fortunate not to be one of them. My area wasn't flooded either. It seems that most people who were harmed by this were the ones who didn't listen to the warnings - who didn't evacuate when told to, who went outside and got struck by a falling tree, etc. Most people were prepared, though. All of the modern weather forecasting technology and media attention contributes to that.

We're both alive and well! Thanks for thinking of us, Zoe and Marle. In fact, we came out of this better than we went in: we’ve been working from home since Monday due to power outages at work. So much nicer than having to wear pants.* ;D *Ok, ok. I am currently wearing pants. But I don't HAVE to!Edit: dang... I meant to also say that I'm glad to hear that you weathered the storm ok, Marle! I wasn't thinking when I originally posted this.
