Hi, what about Scream Therapy to counter shyness? Maybe if people are so into trying to figure out what caused their shyness and basing their overcoming this through psychological means, what about some form of Scream Therapy to Scream it out? Would that be possible?
Thanks.

I don't know much about this form of Therapy, but I do notice that when I have a good cry and release these feelings, I feel better.

You're not "being strong" by keeping it in.. you're just setting yourself up for a disaster when it all does come out. As far as the screaming goes, i've not found anywhere that actually does it (or at least not close to me). A primal scream must be very theraputic, though whether or not it can help with shyness - i'm not sure.

I've heard that breaking dishes is good for you or beating a car with a bat. LMAO

LMAO that reminds me of my ex father-in-law. he was a real quiet guy, but i guess one day he lost it with a washing machine he had already repaired three times and beat the hell out of it with a ball bat, lol. i guess it was quite the spectacle. at every family potluck dinner someone told that story. ;D

I think that is effective. About 3 months ago i quit smoking. In the early stages i was a little (lot) stressed. I smashed a few drinking glasses. It felt good. Lately i have perfecting my Chewbacca yell. That is a good stress reliever. I can't do it all the time. The neighbors would call the cops and i end up in the top floor of the hospital.

It works for me. I do it on a daily basis BUT, I scream in front of people! I freak them out! ;D It really helps... me.

I think I can categorically say there's no such thing as "screaming shyness out."
This scream therapy sounds like it's related to the primal scream, which was a book that came out in the goofy self-help era of the 70s. The author of the book claimed it was one of the most important discoveries of the 20th century and made all other therapies invalid! It had a 100% cure rate, worked with heroin addicts and criminals, etc.
The "treatment began by spending 24 hours totally alone in a hotel room without television, telephone or any other forms of communication. You're supposed to try to stay up all night. You take a leave of absence from work and go to a therapist who sees no one else during this time every day for three weeks. Etc. Basically, it was just weird.

But I'd love to try that if there's a formal session or class for that as I'm apprehensive to try screaming here at house. They might think I'd gone berserk or something.
