Hello. I have written a few tips on how to overcome or at least control the feelings associated with shyness. I know shyness can be debilating and hurtful because it prevents you from doing things you may want to do in life. I've been there. I decided to write an article on ways that have helped me to overcome my shyness. First you need to improve your self confidence. Second you need to realize that no one is perfect, everyone has flaws. I know a lot of times when you are shy, you think people will make fun of you or you fear being rejected. If someone makes fun of you, it means that they have low self esteem and they need to build themselves up to make themselves look better. If you keep thinking that everyone else has flaws too, maybe you could learn to accept yours and get out there and open up to the world. Here is the link to my article if you are interested: www.associatedcontent.com/article/1854735/how_to_overcome_shyness.html

I like articles like this. It's common sense.
I didn't know AP had videos on their websites too!
Here is what I find valuble:
Tip #1-Start out by smiling at a few strangers each day.
Tip #2- Be kind and courteous to people that you meet. If you are shy but have a negative attitude and outlook on life, then others may pick up on that and may not want to engage in conversation with you. It is best to always greet people with a smile so that you look like someone that may be easy to talk to.
Tip#4- Remember that everyone has flaws.

Hi flowers09. I'm quite pessimistic and i'm finding that i tend to stare down at the floor very often. how might i go about changing this? also, i understand that everyone has flaws, but i just tend to magnify my own and erase those i see in others. i find that i'm feeling inferior to others most of the time and this causes me to avoid eye contact even more. i don't know what to do; i just know that i want to change.
