Ive looked in to this and its not as rare as the public and media would lead you to belive.Ive looked on various internet sites regarding this. And it would seem that certain people just dont admit to it.Yet when my secret got out i was made a social outcast people turning their backs on me and putting there head down in front of me. So what is so wrong with being chastiy or a virgin or pure or anyway u want to put it. It would seem certain locations take it different to others.

I'm 27 and a virgin. I don't know why society is so obsessed with sex, especially when there's so many STDs and stuff. I don't know if my friends look at me differently because I'm still a virgin or not (they all lost their virginity by the time they were 20), but to my face they usually just tell me I should be glad I'm a virgin and that a lot of people regret not waiting, and that sex is overrated and that I shouldn't worry about it. But still, I admit that being a virgin at this point in life makes me feel abnormal. I tried doing a little research on how many people my age are still virgins, and the only site I found with statistics claimed that after the age of 25 I think, only about 1% of the U.S. population are virgins.

Yeah i agree i don't think it is as rare as people make it out to be . I think it might even be more common then 1%.

Well i looked on dating sites forums of topic on this and there are more than people think its just that it gets hidden from people.I read on another site that the percentage was higher but people are going to lie even if they arent.Because of the piss take. Also some celebritys and famous people are until quite late.

It's probably more common than you think, but that doesn't make it feel any better a situation to be in imo. It also seems mostly to be guys who post about being virgins over 25. Maybe guys just worry about it more.
What I want to know is 'how rare is a female involuntary virgin, 25 and higher', though the answer might depress me further. lol

Well this is my point people can be nasty to older virgins but is that really neccasary when i know how i feel like ive wasted alot of my life.Because i know that there were girls there for me but i held back too much and now i have to live with that regret.Because u cant turn back the clock. So they cant make me feel any more embarrased or in emotional pain then i all ready do.Also certain jobs have gone for me leaving me with no social income for about 4 years as well at a time when i would of been brought out of my shell. With the freinds i had then.

Being a virgin is no more than a simple label made for validation purposes. And back on the topic, I don't think it is common, no. For the simple reason that throughout the world most people tend to marry young still and thereby consumate their new relationship with physical intercourse. ;D

There is nothing wrong about being a virgin. Alot of people jump into sex carelessly. Not that there is anything wrong with it, it's just that I have a different take on it. I know where i'm from, people make such a big deal about virginity and no, I will not pay a hooker to pretend to care about me for a few minutes like others would. To me, what's the reward in that? Again, not that there is anything wrong with it, I'm just not going to do it.
I just feel that alot of people(especially where i'm from)use eachother as toys. There is not enough respect in my opinion. Alot of guys classify me as thinking more like a female(whatever that means)but hey, i'm honored to think alittle differently than most guys around here. I would like to move out of state. I don't think i'll ever find what i'm looking for here(as far as outside of myself goes). At least I can work on improving myself as a person while i'm still here.

Well when i was a virgin people treated me like a kid. It's all in your mind. Seriously. You don't suddenly have a huge flashing sign above your head once you lose your virginity.

And I wondered why everybody knew what I was when I had a tatoo on my forhead that said: "Used merchandise. Buyer beware!" jk lol ;D

Some people do have the perception that a man is not a man until hes had sex.
