I started my library internship at my old university's library a couple of weeks ago. I work pt time at the Reference Desk, and answer numerous questions about the library and course related questions for students. The problem is that I'd forgotton that this school's demographic is maybe 80% female, the overwhelming number of which are young, slim, cute, and very polite and friendly! Now, I'm not the sort of man who chases after every young, cute gal that comes along. I pride myself on having a strong sense of self control and integrity. But I must admit that I find it difficult to concentrate and treat these young women as adult students with intellectual questions seeking me out as the Expert Reference Librarian Man. I answer all their questions and even get up to help them locate their books or periodicals. But I'll tell you, gang, even my oats are being tested here! I'm doing my best to keep them reined in, don't worry.

Man, you're in a library, surrounded by hundreds of years of knowledge in thousands of books on every topic imaginable. You have great works by centuries of bright minds, volumes and volumes covering every period of history in immaculate detail, more paper and text than you could ever read in a lifetime at your disposal and ALL you can think about are slim, cute, slender, long-legged intellectually stimulating girls no doubt dressed in typical skimpy university attire and ALL queuing up just to speak to YOU in person? I like you thinking GO GET THEM MR LIBRARIAN!!!!!

I'm pretty sure these girls like the library because it's a safe place away from the male gaze. Plus, you missed one major point, if these women are in a library they're probably intelligent or like to learn. But of course, being slim and cute is way more important.

This is a supportive website and we should encourage more of an outgoing behaviour in each other, because that's a more happy mode of being in the world, as opossed to being lonely with no one to talk to.

Only 2 or 3 at a time.

Slim and cute, AND intelligent and like to learn. Hey, four qualities I admire most in women. Seriously, though. Most of them are short and cute and slim. Whcih I like because then I actually feel big and strong and important around them. I don't feel so short.

Hate to say it, Ultraruss, but you don't sound very shy right now. Most of the time around women (and people in general) I'm okay and somewhat chatty and friendly. But when I approach women in an interested and romantic way I tend to clam up and say something stupid, and not be charming at all. So I like that they're approaching me instead of the other way around.
