Does anybody really think playing it cool with a woman works. For example maybe paying a her a compliment or two then drawing back waiting for her to come to you? My mate reckons its wrong cos that can lead to game playing It reckons always tell them how you feel.

If a guy complimented me once or twice and then 'drew back' I would think he just wasn't that interested. Even if I liked him, I wouldn't want to pursue someone who stopped showing signs of interest.
Also I sort of agree with your friend, if you start off 'plotting' to get the girl, your most likely in for a relationship based on mind games, not honest affection.

I guess to what degree are you talking about. For example i went out with this girl last thursday. I would say it was our first official date becuase the first time we had never met before. Of course i complimented her on how she looked, we held hands a little bit while bowling, and then at the end of the night we kissed each other on the cheek. She actually leaned in first. I txt her the following day to see if she wanted to go out again later on this week. I havent txt her since saturday becuase she is out of town for a couple of days on vacation, she told me when she came back she would give me call about our plans. So is the lack of txt while shes on vacation a sign she might not interested anymore?

I don't think it matters if you text everyday if she is showing the same amount of interest in you. You can always ask her next time you talk if she thinks you are texting excessively.
