Do you like your smile? I feel a little awkward, like physically, when I smile. I'm not sure why. And it makes me feel like I'm about 10 years old (not always a bad thing). I think I even look a bit like a kid when I smile. I'm not saying I don't like doing it. I just feel slightly awkward about mine. My fake smiles are terrible. Don't tell me to smile more. Make me smile! ;D

I'm pretty much the same, my smile is awkward. Particularly if its a big teeth showing smile. I don't like it much. Usually when I take pictures I keep my mouth closed. I just think I look more normal that way.

Mine gets worse the longer I have to hold it.
It's like when you play a sports video game and you see a power meter pop up, you know that if you hold the button for too long things are going to get real ugly. My smile is exactly like that! ;D

If I make a showing-teeth fake (unspontaneous) smile, it looks downright scary, in my opinion. I try to stay close-mouthed, too. If it's genuine, it looks OK. The vast majority of people have great smiles. Good for them. A smile is still a smile though... when you're really feeling positive it comes through.

If I smile, it's only if something causes me to do so. I've often been told to "smile more". Why? Give me a reason. I don't see everyone else walking around with big, stupid grins on their faces. Maybe I'm not smiling because I don't have a good reason to, hm?
And don't get me started on fake smiling. I don't know about anybody else, but that doesn't make me feel better. Believe me, I've tried. If anything, I feel like an idiot, sitting there smiling when my mood is the opposite.

When I smile, I think I look a bit like Moe from The Simpsons when he smiles.
I don't smile that often unless it's that smile you do when you've done something wrong and you're trying to look innocent but you're doing it in such a way that it's obvious you've done something wrong.
I also hate my smile on photographs. I look like a right berk.
There are people in the world who smile. I like to think they're doing the smiling for those of us who don't smile ;D

I love smiling i smile all the time, when a lot of people wouldn't, like say if i loose 20 quid, it will piss me off but i'll still be able to laugh and joke and smile about it, if i miss the last bus and have to walk 2 miles in the cold/rain, i'll still find a funny side to it, I've got a mate like this, if im pissed off about something and i realy dont find it funny at all, my mate can often find a hilairious side to it which cheers me up and i join in finding it funny, ye smiling is wicked, i guessing i'm making up for all them horrible times when i had nothing to smile about, women tell me i've got a lovely smile, when i smile it makes them smile

I didn't really like my smiles until my early twenties. When I was a teenager I didn't think I was pretty. I felt awkward. And it reflected in the way I smiled. Looking back I can literally tell a difference in my old photos. I can tell I was less comfortable with myself. And now that I'm older I'm starting to develop a dimple on one side. ;D It makes me want to smile more often.

TBH I hardly ever smile (rarely want to at all), though as a child think I was told my smile was nice. British/European people (perhaps) do smile on average rather less than Americans/Canadians Especially in London and the South-East, most people in the streets with rare exceptions generally look pretty gloomy and dislike strangers even looking at them. Up north especially, people apparently smile at random more and are less reserved overall.

I am blessed as I just could not care less what people think about the way I look. I enjoy the rare compliment, but just blow off negative comments... again which are rare. Because of this I can smile freely.
As for my fake smile... I hate the whole fake smile thing. My family does it all the time. To me its like putting lipstick on a pig... it hides nothing and just makes one look ridiculous. I can still do a fake smile, but only in situations where people would rather hide behind their facade that be real... those types I avoid in general, but hard to avoid family.

I have only recently learned to start liking my smile or face. I had such a bad image of myself and so little self confidence for such a long time that it has taken a long time for me to believe others actually can like my smile and my face. I used to even avoid taking pictures, but now I am trying to make it a point to have my picture taken. I figure it I stop fearing the camera it will help me be less self conscious and loosen up.

Don't tell me to smile more. Make me smile! ;D I agree with this. Sometimes people would tell me to "SMILE!" and it would just make me insecure. Eventually I became annoyed of it. I honestly like my smile though. I have a hard time doing it all the time though, like when I am walking around outside and all. I tend to look how I feel, and outside I am inwardly thinking about all kinds of things. But yeah there is a difference between a fake smile and a genuine smile. And I think anyone's genuine smile is beautiful!
