I am feeling a lot better finally. Sheesh!
I am pretty sure I will be forever alone without friends in real life other than my husband.
I think I am going to try to accept that.
It turns out my husband's distant relatives don't like me as they are xenophobes.
I tried to connect with this old friend from high school on fb and he rejected my friend request even though he was accepting many others from high school. We had been really close friends then.
Someone 10 years ago had told me that he died and I cried for 2 solid days over it.
I guess it hurts when you thought a friendship meant something back then and then don't feel the same.

missklew- I'm sorry to hear about what happened but at least you're feeling better.
That's nuts. It makes me wonder why he would reject the request.

I am feeling a lot better finally. Sheesh! Does that mean the ulcers have cleared up? I tried to connect with this old friend from high school on fb and he rejected my friend request even though he was accepting many others from high school. We had been really close friends then. [...] I guess it hurts when you thought a friendship meant something back then and then don't feel the same. The first thing I thought when I read this was: maybe he had a crush on you or something way back when, and now has a wife or girlfriend he feels he'd be betraying if he got back in touch with you. Besides that, there are a ton of reasons why he could have rejected the friend request without implying that your friendship didn't mean much to him. Like maybe he abandoned his youthful principles and doesn't want you to think less of him for it. Still, it just seems jerky to reject the request with no explanation. Facebook can be a really upsetting place at times. Anyway--glad you're feeling better!

*hugs* welcome back, Missklew. Sheesh, what a year you had. Glad you are feeling better. Sorry to hear about the rejected FB request, sometimes people can be so hard to predict.
