I voted for Star Wars,,but not a big fan of the newer 3, The originals were better, well except for ROTJ and those fookin Ewoks.
Also the new BattleStar Galatica is a good series.
Dr.Who,,love the theme song, but haven't watched since I was a kid.
The Matrix original was the best, the other 2 were just ok.
Star Trek TNG, and original cast rocked, to bad they are dying off now. I wonder if Star Trek will die now.

Hmmmmm......STAR WARS of course . Although Star Trek TNG was utterly fantastic, I used to stay up late with my dad as a child to watch it, such happy memories.

Out of those Star Trek, I also like Firefly, Quantum Leap, Dead Zone, The X Files. I loved Quantum Leap when I was a kid. And I will always have a special place in my heart of the X Files. I have to get that on dvd...if it wasn't so expensive. ~I.A.

I like Star Wars the best, I suppose. Episode 3 really reminded me of why I liked it in the first place.
I though Star Trek: TNG was quite good, although I never cared for any of the other series or movies. And of course, I've always loved the X-Files.

Star Wars for sure. Even after 20 years, everytime the title comes up and the music starts I get excited and tingly in my stomach. I can't really watch episodes 1 and 2 but 3 was alot better. Even if they do still talk about 'The Chosen One'. The Empire Strikes Back is still tops though in my book.
I never really liked Star Trek much. Deep Space Nine was probably my favourite when it started but disappeared up it's own ass I felt, much like the X-files did. One thing that really bugs me about Star Trek is the annoying, patronising, moralising for dummies that always takes place. Just blow things up damn it!! And the fact there is always someone who is there to tell us what it means to be human. Everything revolves around humans being the best thing ever. It's all about showing the universe how great it is to be human. I just find it all too smug and self-congratulatory. Plus the fact everyweek someone will solve some problem with a breakthrough scientific theory in 5 minutes. Still there was alot of cool ideas and design though. Even if they did usually just revert to aliens having funny noses.
I thought Babylon 5 was a far superior series. Plus it didn't go on too long. Admittedly it was very dull to start with, once it got going it was very good and a great antidote to Star Trek which is still basically throwing up the same old formulaic stuff, no matter what setting they put it in. I wish they would repeat it, like they did endlessly with Star Trek.
Alien and Aliens are classics. Almost flawless. I don't mind the other 2 but I do feel it should of stopped at Aliens instead of trying to milk the cash cow dry. They aren't set in a world in which I would like to live though. Far too scary!
I had mixed views on the new Dr Who. I thought it was very up and down at times but then maybe everyone was just getting used to it again. It was almost as if they needed another 6 months to really finish writing it, to perfect the stories. Sometimes it felt rushed. Also there was the horrible 'humans are great' lecturing that ruined Star Trek for me too. I didn't really like Christopher Eccles Cakes either, which was surprising as he is such a good actor. In a way I was quite glad when he left, I think David Tennant will be a better Dr. I hope they leave Earth for once in the next series too but there were some really great moments. The final episode was briliant except for the ending which I felt was a cop out. Plus the theme tune is still the bollocks. I can't think of any theme tunes that make me revert back to such chidlish glee like Star Wars and Dr Who.
Quantum leap was great but I can't really remember it that well. Sliders was cool too. I'm not sure if it ever finished over here though. As good as they were they were firmly set in the real world. Or at least alternative real worlds lol, which admittedly was what made them great, it also means they could never grip my imagination as much as Star Wars.
Battlestar Gallactica was amazing as a kid. I can't remember too much now though except I loved it to pieces and want to see the new one.
The X-files was great but I think it lost it's way badly. It was one of those series that needed to know when to end. I think it was at it's best when so much was uncertain. Still when it was good, each episode was better than most films which is quite amazing.
Oh the Matrix....hmmm.... enjoyable tosh. Takes itself far too seriously though.
V was really good too. Or at least when I was a kid it was. I think it was a fantastic premise and seems to of been forgotten which is a shame. If ever there was a series ripe for a remake it would be V.
How though could nobody mention Blade Runner? No sci-fi poll should be without it. It is a masterpiece. If it wasn't for lightsabers I would have to say Blade Runner. As a film it is far superior but my heart will always belong to Star Wars. Well unless I ever grow up lol.
My PERSONAL summary: Star Wars > Blade Runner > Aliens > Alien > Babylon 5 > the rest
