I tried to read Eragon, didn't like it too much. Movie novelizations are kind of a guilty pleasure for me, too. After reading this review of the ET one, I think it might be worth a read. www.mutantreviewers.com/rnovelizations2.htmlThat book sounds disturbing from the review, read this quote, "Well, it turns out that E.T., the "10,000 year-old" alien, develops some disturbing sexual crush on Elliott’s mother and stalks her at every opportunity hoping to, I don‘t know, make disgusting alien love to her or something. " ;D By the way I never liked movie novelizations, I never understood the point of them. There is a perfectly good movie out there, why does there have to be novel based on it?

Agreed I'm reading Stephen Kings and Peter Straubs "Black House" at the moment. I'm liking it but the fact that I only relaised that it's a sequel after reading half of it is quite annoying Has anyone in here heard of the "new" genre called Bizarro? If you like strange books you should check it out, especially one book called Tales from the vinegar wasteland by Ray Fracalossy. It's awsome ;D

I just finished reading "Valley of the Dolls".
It was more dramatic then what I usually read, but I liked the main plot of the story. The best part was the introduction that compared their climb to "success" to climbing Mount Everest and compromising yourself so much that you don't enjoy it when you finally get to the top. It alone would have made good poetry. Though all the main characters make such poor decisions throughout the story it was almost too annoying to finish, part of this was probably due to the 1960's audience it was originally written for.

I've read 'Transcending the Levels of Consciousness' recently. I love that book. It's one of my favorites and I still read it. It has helped me a lot. Sounds interesting. I like the title. Reminds me of one of my songs, lol (just joking - half ;D! Don't mind me, got a big head today, like Zaphod Beeblebrox - of course he had two heads lol! Books I've read. Well I did read some of Alfred Hitchcock's short stories, but I didn't read them all. I know it sounds kind of childish for MY age, but I'm reading one of the books made by the author of "The Princess Diaries" (same as that movie) called: "Princess in Training" . Well I get a hankering for some young people's books once in a while. And I have another yp's book which I haven't started yet called "Size 14 is not fat either" (I alread read the one about size 12 not being fat - it was interesting).

Miracle in the Andes by Nando Parrado is an awesome book! its so inspirational i almost cried of reading what they had to do in order to survive the plance crash, and all the doubt that they all would die on the mountains, but they perservered and came through. at the end, it taught me that every moment in life is a gift.

I just borrowed 2 more before I came online here:
"China Friend or Foe" - Hugo de Burgh (c) 2006 (non-fiction);
"Severe Autism - Denied Support" Struggling to Survive in the Mainstream - Leonard Jayson (c) 2007 (about an autistic lady named Marla Comm)
(I read mostly non fiction, but once in a while I read fiction, when I'm in the mood for a story, rather than information)

i just read a booka bout the trojan war, the war at troy, love all the greek mythology stuff.
I read about as well, called, 'before I die' by Jenny Downham, it's about a 16 year old girl who's dying of cancer and she has a list of things she wants to do, it's not the best written in the world but it's so so sad, and very natural as if she knows what it feels like. At the end it sort of decends into random lines, like her consciousness.
Made me cry so much.

Eragon the movie came after Eragon the book. They just mutilated the plot in the process of fitting it into 2 hrs.
Just finished reading the Ender's Game series. It is a sci-fi novel with some really interesting undertones about human interaction. I thought Card had some really interesting ideas about the vaule of human life, and even the basic ideas of right and wrong.

do any of you guys know of some good novels full with humor?... That all depends on your type of humour. What sort of stuff do you find funny? British English... i love it in general, a person's simple humo Ur, is what i like most. a humorous character that acts funny, says and does hilarious stuff all the time. Someone who THINKS funny. Someone that sees what is logically illogical. They get their imagination at gear and quickly brainstorm possibilities. think you have a book i might find interesting? . I don't care if its no masterpiece. I also don't care whsat the story's about. I just want some humor. that's right!
