I figured I would take the plunge and start this thread, originally put forward by Strawberry . I hope she doesn't mind me doing so, or quoting her original post! I think it's a great idea to have a thread for previous regulars/posters to have somewhere to pop by and let everyone know how they are doing. Maybe passing on some words of wisdom as to how they've tackled their own issues with shyness and/or social anxiety? I, like Strawberry, do wonder how people are getting on from time to time, both those that posted frequently and those who preferred to lurk in the shadows I think i did a bit of both myself! Anyway, I don't know if other people are of the same opinion, and whether this thread could be pinned to increase the likelihood of returning people seeing it? I'd be glad of any input forum members want to offer. I'll have a go at doing a little update myself when I can muster the courage and write something worth reading

No one's using this. I can only assume the majority of old-timers never check in anymore. I wanted to write something, but I guess I'll have to start using my old online 'diary' again.

'ello ... not sure if anyone would remember me?
Still programming...
Been kicked around a bit more so a little more capable - or maybe less caring - in the shy department - though still not extemporaneous.
Poop!

Fear me for I am the ghost of Grayback doomed to wander the Internet for all eternity ! If you have any question about the afterlife, now's the time to ask them. If not I'll just have to continue to passively-aggressively haunt you, mostly the former though.

Hello Strawberry, I'm doing fairly well all things considered, still dealing with the same issues obviously but I've learned to do the best I can with what I have. In about two months from now I'm going to be 30 years old and I do feel that even though I'm still feeling rather lonely I've definitely made significant progress in the past 10 years. Hopefully I'll be able to start a relationship in the next 10 years, fingers crossed . How about you Strawberry, how has life been treating you lately ?

Glad to hear you feel you've made some progress! I turn 30 in October... not looking forward to it. Just looking at that number terrifies me quite honestly. :S I...have taken some steps backwards, unfortunately. But, I know it's something that needed to happen. I had a long-term relationship, which ended. Just over a year ago, had moved into a house and now I'm back in a studio apartment. Just trying to pick up the pieces and figure out my life all over again. To be honest, I hate starting all over again. At the same time, I know I have to. So yeah...that's me right now really. I think one of my main frustrations is the thought that I am just going to have to go back to school for something worthwhile. Regarding that route, I regret my choices deeply.

Thanks Strawberry !
Even though it's really only just a number, I agree with you that it's pretty scary to reach that milestone, mostly because it's yet another reminder of how quickly time passes.
I'm sorry to hear about the end of your relationship, I don't want to sound too cliché ( especially since I've never been in a relationship myself ) but I hope things will improve for you soon. What would be your dream job ?

What would be your dream job ? To be honest...I don't really have a dream job. I just...have never found my niche. I had come to the realization lately that I just want to find a better paying job that I can feel competent at. But strangely enough...my life has taken an unexpected turn over these past several months that has made me realize that is not my biggest worry right now. The sort of turn that just changes everything about how you feel and how you expect your life to go. My best advice to you or anyone (not that you're asking it, but I'm going to say anyway) is to try and live every day like it's your last. (another total cliché really) But it is so true. It's the only way to live 'right.' It's the only way to live without regrets. You just never know when your last 'good' moment is going to be. That statement, unfortunately, can go for anyone. As they say, tomorrow is never promised. Again, not that I live this way...but I sure wish I had.

It sounds like you're facing something nasty, I don't want to speculate but if you ever feel the need to talk to someone with a good ear ( one of the few qualities I'll recognize about myself ) I'm only a private message away.
That's good advice actually especially with all that's going on in the world currently, we really need to make the most of each day as they come.
