The Hobbit Part 2- Another awesome Hobbit movie! A bit too long overall, certain scenes were unecessary or too drawn out, but overall I enjoyed it.

Anchorman 2
If the mixed reviews have put you off, put it this way: you have to see it. If you liked the first one, you'll like this one.
It is simply brilliant. Really enjoyed it.
Brick's 'shadow' line is the single biggest laugh I've ever heard at a cinema.
5/5.

I saw Anchorman 2 last night actually. I was pretty funny, better than I had expected. I never saw the first one (I'm not a huge Will Ferrel fan so I avoided it) so I wasn't sure I'd like it. Really enjoyed the part near the end where it went crazy and had all the great cameos.

Chronicle- It was pretty decent and I enjoyed it, though the final battle scene on the streets got a bit boring and didn't really fit into the rest of the film for me. But overall good, and made me want super powers even more!

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug - Amazing
2nd viewing of Man of Steel - far better than I expected, though my hopes for Henry Cavill in the role took a massive nosedive once Batman vs. Superman was announced. He's so good in the role, and I fear all his hard work will be lost in the face of a concept that really shouldn't be made at this stage in a Superman reboot, if at all!
My Boxing Day movie was Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit - the short films are such a big part of my televisual childhood (?), but this more than lives up to them.

Since I saw the second movie, I decided to check out Anchorman. It was fairly funny, but I still don't really get what the fuss was about.

I thought the film ran out of steam about two thirds of the way through, I get the impression the scriptwriters just ran out of material at the point after the ice rink, then the last portion of the film relives heavily on cameos which just don't work as well as they could have considering who they asked for each cameo. Secondly, just listening to the audience's reaction was interesting how the laughs petered out a lot after the halfway mark, at which point they just almost stopped laughing and only had a chuckle or two. I enjoyed the film and it was great but I think it wasn't a necessary sequel and the jokes which made the first one a brilliant film didn't carryover well. In saying that however the film delivered exactly what I expected so I wasn't let down.

Shrek 4
Man, what a depressing children's movie, that is.
'Hey kids, let's sit down and watch that movie where that guy wishes he didn't have children'.
No idea why, they're adorable. Probably because they're more realistic for animation than you'd normally expect to find. Aww, they're so cute.
And while we're at it, I find Fiona strangely attractive. Probably gonna regret saying that, aren't I?
Heck, while we're in that area, how the hell did Donkey and the dragon conceive those babies? I can't remember a scene at an IVF clinic. Or the bemused look on the doctor's face wondering how a dragon got into the clinic. Amongst other thoughts, too.
I'm grateful the fifth one was cancelled, even though they planned five from the beginning. It was wearing pretty thin by the time the credits rolled on the fourth. DreamWorks are fantastic but they have a problem letting go of something good. I commend them for trying, the fourth was good and had its moments, but it was time to end it.
The message of the fourth was, 'you don't know what you have 'til it's gone'. I don't think children will understand that, really. 'Oh no, my Playstation is broke - dad, can I have some money?' The complexities of it are a sign of head scratching at DW HQ.
I'd give the fourth installment 3/5. Not bad, a good end.

Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters- A lot better than I expected. Entertaining as long as you don't take it too seriously.
