Ouija board is old news! I played with one as a teen. Nothing bad happened. It gives me a chuckle how you young folks get all worked up over these old old things. Indeed! My mom played with these things many many moons ago, as did I. I'm not sure how far back my mom saw them though...I'll ask her when she comes back from having lunch with Satan.

if a person doesn't truly believe in the Lord, I'd question whether using that phrase could work. Good point. I think a lot of atheist become believers after they're in deep suffering and everything else fails, they geniunely call out "If there is a God I ask him to help me".. and then something profound happens. It's quite common for atheists to turn to God when all the chips are down. It helps people. I was quite suprised to find out that one of the hosts of one of my favorite shows on TV, Ernie Johnson from Inside the NBA, has such a faith in God after that faith helped him with his struggle with cancer. Well I'm sorry you feel that way. The purpose of this thread was to warn people if something like this happens to you, reading this, or someone you know, then you will know what it is, and what to do. However, just like you can't force alcoholics to stop drinking and be normal, likewise you can't help possesed people unless they're willing to accept help. But I don't know who would want to be possesed in the first place..

You are throwing out these infantile topics just to stir controversy and it has nothing to do with helping people
and please don't be hypocritical this thread did not originate in the great debate section by accident you are just using it to preach your faith
be honest and start a thread with something like 'is jesus christ real' or 'does belief in god help people' and then you can have an honest debate with anyone that is interested as opposed to making yourself sound crazy by making comparisons between people suffering from cancer and people being possessed by demons after using ouija boards

has anyone invented an angel board so angels can speak through it? or is it just demons who communicate in this way?

Well it has the dynamics of a debate thread like I expected, but that may be because it's in the debate section. But I can't go back in time and test that hypothesis. It is what it is.
You're welcome to do a 'Is Jesus Christ real?' thread MrNice.
'Does belief in God help people?' - this might be an interesting thread.. Anyway, this is the second time I'm talking with someone over making a thread in the last 24 hours.

has anyone invented an angel board so angels can speak through it? or is it just demons who communicate in this way? Yes, actually. But talking to angels is more expensive then talking to demons. Amazon.com has a "Guiding Light Angel Board" for $32.95. www.amazon.com/Guiding-But-Angels-Guides-Products/dp/B000GDAQQEA glow in the dark board to talk to demons only costs $12.99.

Ha...new $30, 1 used for $210.
Honestly, it looks like 2 slabs of marble with stickers on it. One customer even stated that they are now a dialysis patient because of the board's 'advice'...apparently, angels can be mean too.

Yeah i agree with naptaq ouija boards are dangerous. My auntie used to use one when she was a teenager and she started getting strange hauntings in her bedroom with finger scraping sounds on her bedroom window and lights flickering.

I'm an atheist, but I've always been fascinated with the paranormal. I used to play with a Ouija board a lot when I was younger. Never got any results though. There were unexplained things that happened in my house before I used the Ouija board here, so I thought I'd use it to try and make any spirits here prove they were indeed present. I tried that every now and then for years. Nothing ever happened though. Actually the unexplained occurrences that went on in my house became fewer and farther between instead of picking up... It appears that when my board was made, it was not endowed with the magical powers needed to contact the spirit world after all -- It is merely a piece of wood. I had a friend when I was a kid who was afraid of the Ouija board cause she knew someone, or knew someone who knew someone else who claimed to have had a bad experience with one. But I talked her into using it with me anyway. Of course nothing happened. Not sure if that fact changed her mind about Ouija boards being a gate to hell though.

As a kid, I had a Ouija board that I experimented with. Bad experience! Nothing supernatural, I know it is the Idiomotor effect. However, because the "planchette" moved so strongly, and I knew I was not moving it, I blamed my friend for deliberately moving it to play a trick on me!
He insisted he was not consciously moving it! I was certain that he was!
This was a long time ago... I forget if I even gave enough time to find out what it was supposedly spelling out! Maybe it said something stupid like "you will die tomorrow!" I don't know.
In any event, I chalked the whole thing up to a bad experience and gave up on it.
