yep - there is two types of girls out there - 1. the dumb party bunny/crazy outgoing social butterfly 2. The very hot very smart nice shy girl with super personality that will make the life of any shy guy complete What makes you think that's what I or anyone here was actually thinking? Obviously there are exceptions and millions of types of girls out there. And of course a good relationship won't make your life complete, that's a common false hope of alot of shy people, that "if only I could get that person that's perfect for me and makes me feel completely comfortable, then my lifes problems will be over". You'll still have most of your problems and same view on life, you just won't be as lonely, that's the only difference.

But absence of loneliness will help a lot, though not make things perfect.

But being rejected by a girl is just the worst thing that can happen on Earth^^. you're kidding, right? i woulda thought there'd be a few things higher on that list...like, oh i dunno...having your skin flayed from your body while chained to a rock where sea spray can splash on you??

Let's say it's the worst thing that can happen within incidents in a normal life; exclude all forms of physical pain, accidents and so on. And, no I really am not kidding you on this one^^. Having suffered from loneliness, depression, rejection and so on for most of my {short?} life I know what I'm talking of here.

Exactly, SP. There's obviously something "wrong" with this kind of view, nevertheless is this how I perceive the world. That's why I believe I might suffer from APD or another personality disorder^^.

oh no...i think you're totally on the right track. just keep on throwing up more and more obstacles between yourself and any possibility of a relationship. yeah, that's definitely the way to go. See, you get it! all too well.

I guess you know the hottest girls in your age group are the club and party girls. Is that why you want to try to be more social to attract those types? Not sure if you are talking to me, or someone else in the thread. But, as for me,...well, yeah I think most guys want to attract those types. At least, initially. I'd much prefer to find a hot, smart girl with a good personality than a dumb party bunny after I attain some experience and get the dumb party bunnies out of my head of course I want more of a social life, for more than just that reason, but most of the guys I know are petty jealous idiots. I think I would probably get along with girls better. Come to think of it, I probably have more in common with girls than I do guys. Not in an outwardly effeminate wrist-flapping way, of course, but more in the thought process. But then, it would be hard to maintain that type of social life w/ a girlfriend b/c they might get jealous over all the female friends I would choose to have. No, it wasn't directed towards you in particular; more so the guys in your age group. What you say you want and what you actually try to get are two different things. "'d much prefer to find a hot, smart girl with a good personality than a" You and 50 million other guys want that. From what I have seen over the years, most women seem to be like pictures on a wall to men. I actually don't think many guys are all that picky. If she's the hottest he can get, that is mostly what matters. Plus guys seem to be always looking for the bigger better deal.

"'d much prefer to find a hot, smart girl with a good personality than a" You and 50 million other guys want that. ."[/quote] I do want a girl who's hot, smart and has a good personality, but how I see those things isn't the same as how every other guy will see those things. Some girls that I think look gorgeous, are seen as mediocre to some of my friends, and vica versa. I have a friend that prefers women that are short and petite, and I have a friend that prefers the plus size women. Two people could discuss every aspect of what makes a person look good, and not agree on one thing. What's seen as a "good personality" varies even more. And I guess smart is just..smart, no matter how you look at it, but personally, I don't prefer an extremely smart girl, becuase I definately have my moments of stupidity, quite often actually.

Well, if it is a one night stand, of course not. But, for an actual relationship her personality can't be completely bimbodic. And as for the "bigger better deal" women do that just as much. I suppose it's evolution at work. And Sweet Pea, do I detect an undercurrent of hostility?
