I like the shower idea. I was feeling very uptight earlier (had made a mistake here and was literally physically running up and down the hall to try to rectify it - what a sight to see that was ,unfortunately (or fortunately? lol) I didnt' record it lol. After I got the problem solved, I was still pretty nerved up, had made some supper, but lost my appetite. So I decided to take a quick bath. That helped - a bit. lol. Other things that help me is:
Playing the guitar and singing going for a walk (as others have mentioned) just making up stuff (stories, songs, or especially jokes) working on something technical - whether electronics or something on the computer I'd probably sew something (but I just don't have the eyes for it anymore, very taxing that way for me, unfortunately) knitting (don't have any needles or yarn at the moment though) playing solitaire doing active housework such as vacuuming or other cleaning (when I'm not fatigued) jogging in place at home with headphones playing upbeat pop music such as 80s (duran duran, tears for fears, abc, or other stuff, lol): did that July or August 2011 and felt great afterward. Haven't done it since - LOL!!! Brainstorming about unimportant things (so as not to add to a bad mood) instead of things that might stress me out more (til my mood is better, and then work on the more important things to problem-solve) If you have a friend that can take teasing, go see him or her and tease them about something silly or unimportant. What I do is: if I see someone around the place here, I tease them (another lady here) about silly things or I poke them in the side or tickle them (she's really good natured and doesn't mind my teasing that way, lol) Listening to calming things like ocean waves and other type sounds. Listening to a cat's purr - now that's calming. I have Pepper's purr finally recorded with that cellphone camera/vid thingy I mentioned in my first post, and I listen to that often with the headphones. I stick 'er in vlc and put the audio thing on "headphones" and fiddle with the bass controls in its equalizer (or whatever) and get as much bass as I can. What a motor!!! - lol. That thing can really relax a person!!! lol. Her purr makes me happy:).

This one, I hope, should be interesting reading lol: My top 5 favourite (humourous to me) things (replies) other members on here have said to me: I'll start at 5 and count down to number one (like Casey Kasem when he used to do American Top 40 - lol): 5/to be continued 4/to be continued 3/"It is audio" (made by, I believe it was InfiniteAbyss, but I'm not exacly sure, could be wrong, been wrong before, lols) when Anna (Gaia) had asked how my alter ego could know me. hahaha. That was a classic: should be on a comedy show or something ;D. 2/"Strip Club" (made I believe by Scotty) in a post where I asked people to guess what a friend and I did one night to amuse ourselves ;D. Poster "Mama" got it right, btw, that this other lady and I went singing Karaoke) 1/And....(drum roll please?)....hereeeerrrrs the number one comment or reply said to old audio from another member on this board....: anybody with weak stomachs, if you're reading this, better stop now or you might feel ill - fair warning ) anyone who wants to read it, pls scroll down ; it might seem like it's not there, but it will come up : Number 1/"Do you eat your toenails?" (I forget who posted it at the moment oh wait - I'm thinking Ty78 - that's the screenname my mind is visualizing from memory, but it might be another poster). Obviously this comment was back when I first joined su back in 2006 under the screenname "alwaysalone", and I had had a toenail signature, and was explaining the background of it. Got a lot of replies to it too which I hadn't expected,, lol ;D!!!

Finally watched the last Puppet Master movie: Puppet Master X: Axis Rising. Four new puppets are introduced (working for the Nazi side):
Weremacht, Blitzkrieg, Kamikaze, and Bombshell.
I watched most of it Friday, then I had something very important I had to do, so I went in last night, and watched the rest of it (not much left to watch of it).
The ending seemed happy, but it was "sort of" a cliffhanger in a small way (regarding the green "formula" - I won't say anything else so I don't spoil it, lol) So "maybe" Band might create a PuppetMasterXI (*rubs hands together in anticipation*)....?
Scotty, I haven't watched the new Trek yet. I was going to when I was at the mall a week or so ago, but it was getting down to the crunch time (near showing) and I just didn't want to get in the theatre that late; so I decided I would make a specific point of going just to watch it another evening. I'm looking forward to it, as I very much enjoyed Star Trek 2009 ;D.

A book I bought in grade 6 book club in the 70s (we could choose and buy books, give the teacher the money and our order form, and they'd arrive a few weeks later). The New Lucinda by Grace Gelvin Kesinger It's just about a shy and retiring high school teen who makes herself over in mannerisms and so forth after her parents inform her they're moving. She does succeed, and she makes some new friends at her new school, but runs into some trouble later on in the book with a case of mistaken identity and as a result of that, being snubbed by her friends. At the end though all is well. note: I recently found the book at that bookstore I habituate downtown (the one with the cat, lol), and bought it again - for only 60 cents haha). I also read in the 80s - this is just one of those romance magazines, lol - a short story about a shy teen who is unfortunately somewhat overweight, as she'd written (because in the magazines it was the person writing about themselves and their lives). I forget whether she, too, had to move to a different city. But during the summer, they went to the beach, and she did a lot of swimming, and lost some weight, met a guy, had a relationship, and all that. Can't remember the ending, though lol. It certainly changed her though: going from shy and unpopular, no dates in high school, to having an intense relationship during the summer. Sorry, that's all I remember from it .

I also always had intense trouble dating, which you could easily see if you look back at the large majority of my posts on here. Yet, I overcame that to the point I met a girl and we got married last year. I never thought that would actually happen, I was so intensely shy for so many years around girls. I hope it shows you can overcome your shyness, at least to some degree. A very hearty congratulations to you, Bodhi on your growth and on your marriage:)!

Welcome back, Audio! I haven't heard from you in a long time, which is ironic given your name is to be heard. Speaking of which, why is your name audio? Good question lol. I was in a scifi message board around 2005 (hadn't found su yet, or would have joined it first probably), and I was trying to come up with a screenname: I wanted to put something different at the time, couldn't think of the word I wanted, so ended up putting "audio" . Thx for asking, Russ ole boy hehe. Thanks ;D for the welcome, especially:)!!!

Here's "keckle and Jeckle" lol: www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBUlwt_EIsI(I obviously misspelled the first character. Was gonna erase it, but when I read it I burst out laughing "I cackled @keckle" hehe) ;D, so decided to leave it lol. You know what I mean since my first post has the correct spelling )

He man and the masters of the universe.Great cartoon with skeltors funny laugh. Then i remember pigeon street lets pretend, the smurfs, rainbow. lol I used to watch He Man also lol. Well I watched everything for the most part since age 3 lol. I thought I already posted (under my old screenname), but here goes: capt kangaroo, family affair, felix the cat, hashimoto san, blueno (or something like that: about a flying horse - if I find the link I'll post it: I'm just too lazy right now LOL), tweety and Sylvester, bugs bunny road runner hour or show, heckle & jeckle, tom & jerry, The Flintstones (my fave in grade school, never missed it at 5 pm lol), sesame street, mr dressup (Canadian show), kidstuff (Canadian also on sat mornings about 4 12 yr olds singing, doing skits/sketches, having special guests, etc.), Let's Go, another Canadian show based out of Western Canada (improvs by young people guided by adult Janice), Pinocchio (not the movie, but actual short eps of his adventures), gumby and pokey, Johnny Socco & His Flying Robot (this was my favourite when I was 9) and of course Thunderbirds (though I believe adults probably watched it also) - I loved those Puppets, but I remember at age 8 or 9 seeing traces of strings, and being a little put off by it lol imagine that hahaha ) Can't think of any more right now, lol brain is TIRED lol.

I just the other evening was reading this at the public library; and it was so interesting to me, I decided to borrow it for home reading:
Malignant Sadness by Lewis Wolpert
The Anatomy of Depression
He talks about (among other chapters) the biological explanations of depression, etc. - the workings of the brain in regard to depression. He talks about the neurotransmitters: serotonin, norepinephrine, dopamine, etc. What clinched my interest was the part about the prefrontal cortex, which I believe may have played a part in some of the emotional problems I have experienced/still experience in my mental life. He also discusses the amygdala (which I've studied for years) a great deal, which also of course sparked my interest in reading the whole book. I want to really dig in and study this in depth.
I don't do a whole lot of reading per se. I read "in spurts"; and it has to be something I'm really interested in, or I just won't finish it lol. I don't usually read from front to back. I do a lot of skipping around and skimming, especially when it comes to nonfiction. I rarely read fiction books; but I will put one here I've read this year. It was given to me by a lady friend at the bank I do business with in town.
"Heritage of Folly" by Catherine Cookson. It's about a young girl who's studying Agriculture in college, and travels to a farm to get her practicum. Unfortunately, she comes upon an environment similar to the feuding "Hatfields & McCoys (lol). A lot of drama occurs in this book obviously; it was very riveting and one of those "hard to put down" type books (it's a good thing, lol!). Later on in the book, the reader gets the feeling there's romance brewing (what else?! lol), and there's a subtle undertone of that. I don't want to say more just in case someone on here MIGHT be interested in reading it. It was a good read for me, and the ending was not disappointing either:).
Later on I might post the books I've read throughout the years. If there's a specific forum or thread for that, could someone direct me to it? Thanks. Or I might add it in this one later, if nobody minds.
