All I've seen here is nice civil replies from Skyhint followed by nasty, insulting responses from you. What's the deal here? Maybe it means that you've been hurting for someone to tangle with since ASolitarySoul returned to his home planet..? And btw, there's a typo in your screen name. Not sure if that was intentional. i am 32 and extremely shy and have a hard time meeting women. how do i just go up to one and attempt to start a conversation. i dont like the bar scene and i am flustered. where do i meet them I hope the reason you haven't posted anymore is that you took Sweetpea's advice, and not because of what evolved from your thread,lol. A few suggestions
-library
-church
-speed dating
It seems to me that your real problem is anxiety, so you could remove that block first, because it's really a disadvantage for you.
You could try self-help stuff, CBT, 3rd step of the 12 step program.. whatever appeals to you. Pick something that appeals to you.
But of course that's just my, uneducated, suggestion to you.

Ok, one more intrusion from me... I know, no one wants to let the other person get the last word. I've talked this over with a friend of mine, and I've been convinced I was indeed in the wrong to snap at you, Skyhint, and I apologize. On further consideration, I understand that you weren't trying to be insulting, and it was only my own personal prior experience with people using "last word" remarks as an insult that led me to interpret your post as such. I only hope you weren't too put out by all the BSing that followed on my part. I know it's no picnic having somebody bitching at you for no good reason, and I really am sorry. And yeah, Naptaq had some good suggestions. I also have a weird one that I heard yesterday at a little art talk: get your portrait painted or drawn with you looking kinda sexy-like--maybe some dramatic shadows and things--and hang it somewhere that the ladies will see. This is supposed to give your social life a kick in the pants. In totally unrelated news, I'm going to be graduating art school soon and desperately in need of cash... ;D |

I was a little confused about what was going on and how it started. It's easier if you can find common ground. For instance I have a dog and go the local "dog park" often. If anyone approached me about my dog - what type of breed is she? What's her name? etc. I'd be happy to chat. Unfortunately I have not met any men this way. It seems the ones around my age are all taken.
