Death

Even though death is a fact of life. Most people have been at least in one point in there life totally bummed out to the place of at least thinking about it (even if they wouldn't really admit it)....
If you have ever been close (loved) a family member, friend, neighbor, what have you.... and they passed away.
Well... Death is not funny. It is Very Real and can be pretty devastating all on it's own.
It may have not been intended in that way. But, I personally would do almost anything to have some of the folks back that have gone on to the other side.
As Always, Mary

Everyone, is entitled to their opinion. I know some years back my husband never seem to have an opinion, or wanted to voice it.
Over time... I guess he felt more at ease to share it.
The thing that I feel is important is to remember that Everyone is Entitled to their opinion, just as we are.
That does not make it right or wrong, and often times can vary depending on your perspective of what you are discussing.
Where there seems to cause problems is when one has and voices their opinion and feelings, but does not see that others can have quite different opinions and/or feelings.
We just need to be open to allowing others to see things differently than we happen to. Doesn't make it right or wrong... Just different.

Life is not perfect, I wish I had an SO and a more fulfilling job, but I like being in my thirties alot. I feel heathier and smarter and fitter and more confident than any other time in my life and if you'd ask me if I wanted to be any younger I can honestly and enthusiastically answer no. That's the truth kiddies. I'm off to Costa Rica for two weeks. Maybe I'll post some pics. Hey Zaab, Have a safe, but fun trip!! I would dig seeing some pics when you get back too...

Thanks! Maybe I should have added alfalfa sprouts and veggie burritos to my favorite foods then...... By all means... if that is "your thing". I like all kinds of sprouts... radish sprouts are cool (or should I say groovy) ... easier to chew and not quite as hot!! Although, I do like spicy foods...

Haven't you guys/gals ever heard: "Beauty is only skin deep, but UGLY is to the bone?"
What really counts.... NO makeup can change.

One thing came to my mind through all of this.... Often times people get pushed around and belittled where ever they are in this ol world. This forum is suppose to be a place that each of us can be timid (shy around others), without being bashed, ridiculed or harassed. Mary So what happens when it is a moderator doing the bashing, ridiculing, or harassing? MsPnats, Then you need to send me the name of that mod and the post in question (admin@shyunited.com). The people that can not seem to get along will simply need to find somewhere else to attack each other. Not here.... Period. Frankly, we should be carrying on.... the issue has been addressed and we are trying to get from point a to point b. I am trying my level best to be fair to all parties. Those that don't seem to want to do that, must not want a resolution... only an argument. Once again... that isn't the purpose of this board. It may have been of recent. but it WILL stop. One way or another. Choice is in the hands of the few that are trying to ruin it for the majority. We are suppose to be adults here. Or at least old enough to warrant being here. This squabbling like a bunch of little kids is absurd. Now... can we please strive to go forward? Thank You Much, Mary

Mary, how about some kind of guidance for the mods? Like suggestions as to what type of things to delete etc. Since ive been a mod I havent deleted anything because I believe in free speech unless something truly offensive or out of place is said. However if Im told what sort of things you would like to see deleted then I will be more active. I agree with Adrian on this, when I became a mod I wasn't given any guidelines. I haven't deleted anything either for the same reasons Bottom Line... Guidelines need to be drawn up. TOS posted, so people know up front, a place for the MODS to discuss what needs to take place/suggestions, etc. Someone mentioned something like 3-strikes and your out. The thing is... If someone is really out to push their luck and harass people, or what ever. This is not the kind of forum to do that. Nothing is wrong with joking and cutting up... but anytime you have this many people in one place. There has to be (in my opinion), some respect when communicating with one another. I have received word that a handful of folks would like to make SHY Forum... the kind of place Shane would be proud of. One thing came to my mind through all of this.... Often times people get pushed around and belittled where ever they are in this ol world. This forum is suppose to be a place that each of us can be timid (shy around others), without being bashed, ridiculed or harassed. It will take some time... but we will strive put some changes in place that should be of benefit to SHY United and those members that have made it what it is. Take Care, Mary

Nope, i still don't see how to reply to that moderator announcent. Hmmm, wierd. I'd like to be a moderator, since i post here nearly everyday and i see nearly all the threads. I'd also suggest several others should as well, such as Maxine for one. Paul the Quiet and Also Ran, if he'd stop changing his name for once. I'd also recommend for Zaab and Sweetpea to be mods also. I think Mods should be fairly regular posters, and should frequent the board often, and know how to be diplomatic, not just start editing posts that don't particularly agree with them. HeHe, i like using the " " smiley almost as much as the " ". For some reason, it just fits my personality very well. Russ, I don't understand... It is under the announcement catagory where it was posted about needing to be a member to post at: post link: shyunited.proboards15.com/index.cgi?board=Info&action=display&thread=1120653277reply link: shyunited.proboards15.com/index.cgi?board=Info&action=post&thread=1120653277&page=1quote link: shyunited.proboards15.com/index.cgi?board=Info&action=post&thread=1120653277"e=1120653277&page=1I am not sure shy you don't see it. I changed the permissions ... it should be available to all registered users, now. Thanks... Hava a good one, Mary
